  1. The cutter will run for a few seconds and quit. The cutter is new and using vinylmaster with usb. All i have are cut marks were the blade had cut into it. I have only been able twice to get to get an image. The software is running on default settings
  2. Right now I run you can say a "side business" from home of decals, T shirt (htv) and and some sublimated blanks. I will like to add signs for vehicles, shops, banners, etc.Currently I just have a Cameo 3 which limit me to 12" tall x 10 feet long of max area to work. I will like to get a 24" cutter to cover a bigger area. I know a lot of people says Graphtec is the way to go, but I can't really justify that price tag yet. I will love a servo motor cutter, that's why I'm thinking on the Titan 2. To ALL Pros here, should I get the Titan 2 or you guys think I can get by with the Titan 1 or other cutter like the LP3 or the SC? Thanks in advance and I am whiling to read all your advises.
  3. So, I currently have an SC series cutter and it's done great for about three years That being said, since day one, the thing likes to randomly freeze in the middle of cutting, which is a real pain in the A because you end up losing whatever cut you were working on (cut could freeze within the first few cuts or could freeze on the last few cuts...never know) Sadly enough, I've gotten in the habit of cutting about 20" worth of vinyl at a time, then cycling the power for a few minutes...cut again...cycle power, etc. and it seems to work better With that in mind, USCutter was not really able to help be besides suggesting changing the port, re-installing the driver, getting an anti-static mat, attaching a second ground wire, etc. Mid last week, I went ahead and ordered the Titan 2 (been eyeballing it for some time as I think it'll be a better fit for the volume of work I'm pushing through the SC) The one thing I am halfway disappointed with on the Titan is the amount of RAM / memory that's built in Is there a way to upgrade the RAM / memory of the cutter itself? Thanks!
  4. I have a Titan 28" vinyl cutter and I'm trying to cut Oramask 813 stencil film. The film keeps ripping when I try to weed the design because it's not cut hard enough. I've upped the pressure to 320, which seems excessive, but still having the issue. Some parts of the design are cut deep enough, but other parts look like the blade loses pressure. It makes no sense. Any advice? Some of the lettering in the designs are smaller, about .75 to 1" tall. Should I slow it way down, bring the pressure down and have it cut twice?
  5. So I have a client who wants some decals made. When I test cut, some of the text was ripping up when the cutter was cutting. The small text is about a half an inch tall but it is a thin font style. I’m using oracle 651 vinyl. I was wondering if I used the thin material blade if that would help. Also, what settings are you all running for pressure and speed? Thanks.
  6. We have a titan 3 which we purchased from USCutter about 3 years ago. It works fine with the enclosed (Now outdated) "RazorCut" software. We are more experienced now and recently purchased CorelDraw X8. We make our own more intricate vectors now with CorelDraw. However, I have to "export" our creations in eps or AI format from CorelDraw and "import" them into the RazorCut software to perform the vinyl cutting. This process often times limits our creativity. Is there a driver I can obtain for CorelDraw that I can use to sent image directly to our cutter? We would also need instructions. Thank you...
  7. Hi! new to the forum here. Im using scalp3 and wondering if theres a way to take a seven color image and have the machine (tabletop titan) cut only the outlines of each shape once. Everything I've tried so far is causing the cutter to retrace cuts over each shape once for each color (seven times). This is causing the blade to start picking up parts of the cuts and drag them around. Trying to go monochrome seems to take away way too much detail. I need the image to be cut all at once on the same sheet of material just not this many times. I make stencils that are used to cover plastic then weed colors/shapes accordingly to dye the plastic. If that helps. I attached the image I'm trying to work with. Any help or input would be greatly appreciated, Thanks.
  8. i have the vinyl master 4.0 titan edition and i try to open a flie and get a pop up saying main program has stopped working and the program closes . is this a bug to fix ?
  9. I'm trying to decide which cutter to purchase to use for t-shirts alone. I will be printing and contour cutting. However, my sheets will always be 11x17. I guess this is a 2 part question and it may be a question for the Titan 3 forum as well but I'm not sure. How far from the edge of the sheet can VinylMaster put registration marks? I want to be able to use as much of the 11 inch width of my paper as possible. If it can print very close to the edge of the sheet, will the Titan 3 have a problem reading the marks? Thanks
  10. One thing I would change on the Titan 2, are rather add to, is the number and spacing of the vinyl clamps. It only has 4. There is a roller for a fifth, but not a clamp for it. They should have six spread out, so you could use different size vinyl.
  11. Hey y'all, It's Sarah again. Right now I'm cutting with the MH871-MK2, and it's done well for what I was doing. Now I'm getting into contour cutting (I have a designjet z6100 for printing) and need something with laser/optic eye for contouring... I found a greeeat deal for a USC LaserPoint2 that somes WITH VinylMaster.. It's 379.00. Now, I have a huge order coming due where I'm going to need contour cutting in small letters. Will that machine work and work well? I want to get a Graphtec, but until I get this order DONE, the money isn't available... so should I go for the good deal and get the LP2? I've read a little about the Titan 2 and 3 and honestly wasn't impressed... Also, is the LP2 stepper or servo?? Thanks! Sarah

    New Cutter Advice Needed

Hello everyone. I've spent countless hours over the last couple of weeks researching cutters in an effort to find the best unit for our needs that fits within our modest budget of $1000. I will be doing some detail oriented cutting. So from what I've garnered so far it seems I would want a unit with servos both for the accuracy in cutting and in tracking material for longer cuts. I will also be doing some contour cutting. Considering our budget and these needs I have more or less settled on either: The 50" Titan II with LaserPoint, or The 28" Titan III with ARMS, or The 54" Titan III with ARMS All of these are presently sub $1000 cutters. The Titan II has LaserPoint which is a manual way to register for contour cutting. I have watched videos and from what I've seen it appears to be pretty accurate, but I was wondering how it stacks up to the accuracy of a cutter using ARMS, especially in longer (4-5 ft) cuts. It has a one year warranty and is the least expensive of the three by several hundred dollars. The Titan III 28" is the smallest I would feel comfortable with, and I would be hesitant at that. I'm afraid the narrow width would potentially limit what we could cut down the road. But it does have a two year warranty. The Titan III 54" is being offered through a sister company of US Cutter who specializes in offloading closeout equipment at a very good price, in fact the same exact price as the Titan III 28" (but with $150 shipping charge). However there are a couple of huge caveats that go along with this special price: 1, NO warranty or support 2, potential problems with the unit itself. I have read that the 54" Titan III cannot accurately track and/or cut certain common widths of material, such as 12" or 24" due to the roller placements. I'm assuming this issue is why these units are being closed out. To overcome this limitation I would simply not buy rolls cut to the widths the machine has problems with. Does anyone have experience with any of these machines? How important is a warranty? Do these machines commonly break within the first year or two where the warranty would come into play? I really would like to place my order today or tomorrow, but I am having a hard time deciding which is the best option, so any help/advice would be most greatly appreciated.
  14. I have recently purchased the 53" Titan 3 to primarily cut sandblast mask. I have used multiple 60 degree blades and tried various speed and force settings. I am wondering if I just do not have the proper combination. We have used lasers in the past to cut our vinyl but have decided to try the cutter route. We know multiple other companies that use and have always used cutters only to cut their mask. They have much more expensive cutters, but was really hoping, based on what I've read, this cutter would work for us. The images attached were cut at 350 force, 150 speed, with a 60 degree blade. the depth is perfect, just a very sloppy cut. Any and all help wold be appreciated.

    Issues with Titan 2

I have an email in with us cutters right now, just waiting on a reply. While I wait I would like to find out if anyone else has been experiencing the same issues. I am not new to vinyl cutters, I have been using them the last few years so this isn't my first set up. I followed all the directions on start pdf too, just to be on the safe side. Up until last week I have been using a laser point 2, with SCAL3 e Now on with the problem. the machine is set up. I have vinyl master installed. correct driver is installed. I open an SVG saved from AI, try to cut and it does not cut correctly, it is 2'x2' and instead of cutting across the cutter it is making small cuts at the origin then spooling 2' of material and making a few small cuts and bouncing back and fourth. I cancel the cut try and rotate the image a few different times and nothing is working. I then say screw it and let it go. after about 8-10 minutes in the cutter starts to overlap the image and I have to cancel the cut. I try tracing the image in vinyl master and I get the same effect. keep in mind this is the same file I've used in SCAL over the past year on the laser point. I try all the calibration options in vinylmaster multiple times. I give up with vinylmaster and open SCAL 3. I load the Titan 2 into "my cutter" and bring up a SCAL file that I always use and know it to work on the laser point. The cut order is much better and it seems like it is cutting smoothly. The issue is when I go to weed my project there are gaps in some areas and overlap in others. I cut a second sheet before I picked the first, the second has the same issues however the gaps and overlaps are not in the same place. they are located in different areas. I am beginning to think it is the offset of the cutter or possibly the cutter is a lemon... I'm not sure, hopefully USC will fix me up and I can get back to business. If anyone else has any tips Please help me out. Being without my vinyl cutter feels very weird, and I have orders coming in that I have to refuse or have an extremely log wait time.
  16. Hi,I've searched the site, and can't find what I'm looking for. Please forgive me if this has already been mentioned. I have a Titan 2 refurb. I've been using it for about 9 months with no issues. Today,I turned it on and the cutting unit slung as far to the right as it could possibly go. Then, the display screen started flashing blue about every 2 seconds or so. I've turned it off and unplugged it When I turn it back on, nothing happens other than the blue flashing light. Please Help
  17. Today I am cutting Vinyl lettering for a trailer. I am using Adobe illustrator to create my layout and then sending it to Sure Cuts Alot 3 Pro to cut on my Titan 2. The first file cut some of the text higher than the rest of the word. I decided to start all over with a fresh file and even arranged things a bit different. The same text is cutting out offset each time and then some are and some aren't. I created outlines in illustrator before sending to SCAL. Any idea why this might be happening? I have a customers vehicle here for install and need to figure out ASAP!
  18. Anyone have video or tutorials that are concise and helpful? I've done vinyl application before but not cutting. I'll be using my MacBook Pro to do interior lettering primarily. Thanks! DZ

    Titan 2

Hello, looking Titan 2 owners - what is your impression, concerns, advice Thanks
  20. Anyone have any luck installing a key-span on a mac OS 10.9.3 and using it with the Titan 2. I can use it with a USB cable but it does not see the key-span serial cable. Any suggestions? Thanks
  21. Working with the new Titan 2. Love the quite servo motor and great step up from the SC series, but I am still have problems with the o, d, R, meeting up. Leaves a sliver/tag and causes lots of work to clean up. Seems like a blade offset issue. I have adjusted the blade offset up and down, but doesn't solve the problem. Thinking it is a software issue. Any software recommendations that would solve the problem? Should I try another software? Any trial versions out there? Any ideas?
