What a sad day it was for the Boston Fire Depts. As a former Firefighter I am sadden by their loss of two brothers. I took time to listen to part of the call and the MAYDAY. I salute the dispatcher for her incredible composure and professionalism, in a time I am sure she wanted to freak. Rest in peace Brothers and may you watch over your brothers and families as the days go on.

First responders do not get the thanks or attention that they should these guys run into danger without regard for thier own personal safety to try and rescue another or save property from total destruction. A very large portion of firefighters are volunteers. Police are also under appericated for the services they provide most people arent happy when a policeman pulls them over but 98% of the time it is justified...... I have earned every traffic ciataion i have recevied. I saw footage from that fire on cnn or hln and the wind made it absoutely terrible.

My first cut after setting up and testing my new Graphtec 6000-60. My wife's perfect little way of inspiring me. Simple but a pretty cool feeling clicking that "send to cutter" button. Now we're cookin with peanut oil........

The donations is like when I sent flyers to all the churches and got letters back asking for donations to them. Every time I put my hand ouot somebody reaches in my back pocket and empties my wallet.

Have a buddy that is running for the constable position in my home town. Running uncontested. He asked for a couple door magnets so I fixed him up with these. Had some holes around the images so instead of letting it get wasted I tried a new color scheme on the Razorback logo. It's gold layered over red on a white magnet.

My wife works with preschoolers and saw this on Pintrest and liked it so I made her one....applying to a tapered cylindrical surface is a real PIA!

So you've basically got this 30" X 30" decal. If you use the old L+W / 2 it comes up $30.00 each. Now you just have to add your labor for design and installation. Are you replacing a decal that has faded, torn or worn out? If yes there's labor to remove the old decal. Are they bringing the truck to you or do you need to go to the truck? If you're going to the truck, there's travel time.

We originally purchased our cutter to cut stencils for our custom Cerakote work, and since we had it around I decided to try my hand at making a few work shirts.

Ours is a '95 with 61,000 original miles and it runs great but looks like crap. The paint place wanted $400 more than the blue book value to paint it. I wonder how it would look covered with vinyl?

I was seventeen and some good friends of mine were selling their sign shop to a couple with no experience and they recommended me since I was good with computers. We made a lot of mistakes and worked a lot of hours that first year. Our first Fourth of July Parade we worked 20hr days for two weeks. I lived above the shop so it was real easy to get to work!! That was nearly twelve years ago, we've been learning ever since and hopefully soon I will be buying it from them!

My factory closed in January 2006. I worked there 30 years. Summer of 2006 I met a guy who was a graphic designer and sold vinyl cutters and vinyl as a package deal. I was getting close to running out of unemployement benefits , would be out in early 2007,, So I thought, Hmmm wonder if I could make a go of this. I had no experience at all, except business experience. So, I purchased the bundle deal, October 2006.. pretty much taught myself. I didn't know about this forum back then. My friend gave me a ton of designs to start with. Opened an EBAY store, in November 2006. and worked at running this business, money was not steady at the time, so, I got another full time job, Feb, 2007. I worked that job plus my Ebay store for about 14 months, when I had a steady income flowing I quit the full time job, I purchased my new Graphtec in February 2008, and it had already paid for it's self by April 2008 when I quit my job. .I don't have much overhead. Home and vehicles were already paid for.. Been at it ever since. I work from home.

That sucks man.. If the design is original..u own the copyright to it. So if they take it to another shop..find out and send them a cease and desist letter.

So having yur business card or flyer on a bulletin board is "unprofessional"...if so thats so f'n stupid. I have my card at on the board at my local barber shop, my local supermarket, laundrymat, and post office. Theres nothing unprofessional about it. Now you wanna here about advertising that is unprofessional yet really genius! Around here its called "Stare Advertising"..its placing boards and business ads on the wall right infrontof the urinal in public restrooms! So as im holding my manhood and peeing i can read local and statewide business ads! And trust me...i would rather hear "oh i saw your ad on the board at the supermarket"...than this "hey man i saw your ad as i was taking a piss". Also look up the term "professional"..it varies depeing on the said "profession".. Our profession is essentially graphics and advertising with such graphic media..so anyway that we can inform our potential customers of our service should be "professional".Thus having a card or flyer in a high traffic public area is professional. Nailing my card to a tree in the woods would be unprofessional..as not many people are gonna see it. And anyone who passes up free advertising is just stupid! So i dont think having my card on a bulletin board is unprofessional at all. Any way of getting your name to potential customers is a plus..

Momma always said I was different. The only issue that I didn't realize is that the 15" only comes in stepper motor but after bugging everybody I could that has used 1 they said it is a very capable machine and only slightly less precise than the servo model. Remember if I don't buy one I won't know what makes it tick when somebody is having problems with their machine. (Donation being accepted to fund this endeavor )

So I went into one of our favorite Jerky stores today to try out this new jerky we heard another fiend talk about. Long story short, the owner noticed I was the guy who installed letters on the windows of the barber shop next door and wanted to strike me a deal. He had a roll of lettering that was sent to him from the place he franchises all of his stuff from, and he wanted me to put it in his freezer because he screwed it up before. So all I had to do was line it up, tape it off, peel and stick... and he gave me $60.00 worth of jerky. Not your run of the mill gas station jerky either... some real good stuff. I was happy, he was happy, so when I got home and told the wife she said "oh, so we get paid in jerky now?" I said "hell yeah... cash, card, money order, or jerky!" haha. Not too bad for what I was going to spend in the store anyways, to get it free for installing sone letters on the front of a freezer, I feel like I made out like a bandit!

I'm so impressed. I don't know the first thing about sand etching but it is really nice. And with Dollar Tree around the corner. I could practice on some of their glasses and not worry about spending an arm and a leg on the glasswear.
