Ok so last week we had our weekly shop meeting, and then we had a safety video, about warning labels and material safety data sheets, etc...and some of the warning labels were: EXPLOSIVE, HAZARDOUS, TOXIC, IRRITANT, and so forth. Well after the video ended, our shop technical writer went up to Gary Kirkoff, who is an older guy that works in the sheet metal fab department, and everyone knows Gary is an old fart and likes to get on peoples nerves and cause havoc in the shop and all around goofing off fun, he's just that kinda guy, anyway the tech writer, Johnathan said this to Gary, "We should get an Irritant Warning label for you Gary!" and Gary just shrugged and laughed away.. Well that was last week, and today Gary came in to this Warning label on his partition next to his machine and area.. His partition is always decorated with funny shit, i had to add to it.

$600 per year adds up... How many of us use a program 3-4 years or more before deciding to update? Will Adobe continue to offer the stand-alone versions( non Cloud-based)? With "Cloud" based programs....your files are useless if/when you decide you don't want to continue paying monthly... unless you have up to date stand-alone programs installed on your computer. I purchased the ADOBE CS6 package disk purposely to avoid the "Cloud" issues. I don't need 30+ programs and the latest whistles and bells to design signs, banners, business cards and brochures. It's Smoke & Mirrors to get you to sign up perpetually. Sue2

Debates keep things from getting boring as long as they don't go out of control. Some of the best info I have learned has been the result of some heated conversations on here.

honestly we've looked into re-usable stencils in the past and we still just use one time use paint mask. you get the cleanest lines with an adhesive backed vinyl. If you are trying to make a reusable stencil it really can't have an adhesive back and you end up with a lot of "overspray" we use 3M gerber paint mask.

There is a post office employee that messes up my orders sometimes,, He is the only one at my post office that does it, I had to go to my Postmaster a couple weeks ago, so she could fix it...Instead of scanning ACCEPT, He scans it DELIVERED, my town, and then it shows nothing after that. It really messes things up. It will show all of the tracking on the POST OFFICE computer, but not it we look at the USPS site.. It just shows delivered my town. She was able to go in and change the tracking to ACCEPT, then it showed up on USPS. site and the rest of the tracking for me and my buyer..I hate to see him at the P.O. window.. Another reason why I check my tracking on packages...

Post up the tracking number... I watch my packages online, If I see a notice left, and sitting for a few days longer. I send the buyer a courtesy message, thru EBAY and Paypal email address. ,,saying, "I saw that the post office left you a notice to pick up your package, you will want to get that picked up soon, If it is returned to me you will have to pay the return shipping".... I send quite a few packages with signature confirmation. Never had a problem.

I flat out never guarantee a magnet. Cash and carry only and the reason is I've had several people I know lose them in automatic car washes and had 1 person lose them on !-95 doing 80. You just don't know what environment they are going to be used in.

Nope. Great stuff. Most times will outlast the shirt.

The more surface area of the magnet, the more holding power it will have. Just make sure the flat part of the door will accommodate the 16" size. Lots of trucks and cars have 'creases' running through their door panels ----

very true...buts its sold and labeled as a 14" cutter, not a 355.6mm cutter, LOL

I think the debate really was are you selling a product that will hold up over time and what the chances are a customer can get it to hold up when they do it. some on here try to produce a quality product that last longer than it takes the check to clear from payment. good luck - I'm outta this one

Couldn't agree more. I actually took an online course type thing. Spent about 3 months working through it every evening when I got home from my regular job. Best investment in time I may have ever made (now that I have the side business going and need the skill-set).

The last line on my card is "Just Ask". Pretty much covers everything but on older cards I did go with Etc. and it was effective also.

I have made my living mostly on ebay for 8 years. I have had ONE return out of thousands. Reason? The landlord wouldn't allow the guy to hang the banner. Not my fault but It was a banner I could resell so I paid the shipping, he returned it, and I ended up getting more business from him on things he could use. The simple fact is, there is NO OTHER WAY to reach as many buyers for so low a price as ebay. I think I'll just stick with them.

That is correct he is in the computer biz, and has been away from here for awhile and has helped many people, get their computers connected to their vinyl cutters, who were having trouble. Hence the name Ash Computers
  23. 1 point
And actually don't think he said he is in the vinyl business. His name is Ash Computers.
  24. 1 point
And just because your in the "sign" or "vinyl" business does not mean you can/should be able to design a logo for yourself.

THESIGNPAD.COM Came here a while back, talked alot of big stuff, made up a contest for a company branding prize. Ash won and thesignpad bailed.
