1 pointGreetings. Just thought I'd join while I await my Titan 3 which is on back order and should be shipping this week, according to the website. Can't wait. I've been doing t-shirts using heat transfer and now looking to getting into vinyl cutting. I've been peeping around here and pick up on some great information. Keep up the great work..

1 pointKeep this in mind. You can get by with many things, but not cheap vinyl. I have never layed claim that I'm anything other than a idiot with a couple cutters. In fact it's more fun for me if I'm fixing them. So I have figured this out. I can get away with just about everything anyone says has to be done. No keyspan, cheap ass cutters, and the list goes on. You can't in anyway get buy with crappy vinyl!!!!!!!!!. Do not (all new guy's) buy crap vinyl off Amazon or anywhere like that. It's trash. The stuff I got was given to me. It plug's your cutter, it waste's blades, and more important paitent's. Then you get Pissed and quit. Please Please listen to me. It's great to mess with these machines. Use good vinyl or you'll end up giving up. That's exactly how I got my old US Cutter back.

1 pointI have had the Titan2 since just before US Cutter first started offering it. NEVER a problem. Love it. Cuts and tracks like a dream. Dollar for dollar you get more for your money than the Graphtec with same specs and accessories. So going on 2 years now... I would buy another in a heartbeat..not that I ever expect to need to. This machine is solid and dependable.

1 pointdone it many times with a power miter saw - even if ends slightly uneven doesn't affect a thing (earlier ones I did were not as smooth)
-
1 pointAlso go into it prepared to have some trouble. Either vinyl not sticking to some paints like easy clean, customers trying to adhere to textured walls, customer that try to apply decals that can't pour water out of their boots. So remember you will be dealing more with issues and know how you are going to deal with them. You wil end up replacing some so don't price yourself to compete with the he thousands of wall quotes on eBay coming out of China. Just food for thought

1 pointthats how many of us did it only we started much lower on the totem pole - I started with a p cut and kept working up every year or so. buying a cutter isn't the end = plan on updates and upgrades. I updated the graphtec last year I think it was and the roland printer just the past couple of months - I try to update every 3 years or so now. nothing wrong with starting with a value cutter - in fact they teach you a LOT about set up and troubleshooting - then you appreciate the better ones later when you decide the business is for you

1 pointI have the titan2 and love it . Ya i could of spent alot more for a graphtec but i got what i could afford at the time and with not knowing anything about vinyl before hand i didnt want to drop a load of money at first. Now that i know what i do , and made plenty of money, i will be getting a bigger and better machine later down the road , but not right now there is no need.. My titan 2 does perfect me and i make a pretty good dollar amount . I have no bad things to say about it at all.. Get what you can afford and feel comfortable with...Not everyone can make it in a new field of work and some can. Im glad to say im doing good for the amount of time ive been doing this since jan 2015..

1 pointjust looking to update - cost almost $1K to lift the camper to fit the new truck - hoping the new campers don't need that expensive mod - this was last year about 45 min before we left for a cruise - 3 weeks late on getting it back from being lifted. as a kid it was big to jack up the rear of cars - jack up trucks - never thought I would be involved with jacking up a camper

1 pointIt helps living close to Elkhart Indiana where a LOT of revs ar made. I have a supplier that limits me a little but has been good to me. I have tried to give them some help where I can after they had an employee that ran the eBay end allegedly steal 150k and now buys from their source to compete. While suits are going on. The owners are nice people so I have tried to help them get their pricing and mainly descriptions better to dig back out of the hole. For that there are certain things I get to buy at a good price. That and I take things they don't want to test or mess with . . . With an electronics background the radios work good for me when they come in. Never got 7 in one day before though. Ultimately I am hoping they come thru with a factory buy back 5th wheel for me to update with. If it happens it will be a deal

1 pointThanks all. I have been lurking here for a while. I'm not ashamed to admit that when I was on job sites I came here and looked for tips and tricks.
-
1 pointI am working more hours than I was when I had the state job. . . For 4 more years. . . .
-
1 pointIt was a hard choice to even update . . . But you have to distinguish yourself from the run of the mill printer. My father has sold the best oil in the country for over 45 years and successfully test against any other brand . . . He thought about changing and selling a cheaper oil but couldn't bring himself to do it . . . . He has influenced me greatly in that respect

1 pointHold on - I have to defend him now - anyone that had delt with me knows I am seldom available before noon and if you do get me not as pleasant to deal with lol

1 pointit was a nice machine but just not quite a graphtec - I like being able to go to mine if it has been a month and throw vinyl in it and not mess around - now days that is like daily or more but back in the old days it would be a while between jobs and those p-cut, mh and copam seemed to have attitude if the didn't get used all the time. I guess the difference is confidence and reliability - the titan never let me down the the few months but . . . . it's a graphtec thing and only other graphtec users with cleancut blades can really understand altogether. if I had a choice of a new servo or a 6 year old graphtec ce3000 or fc4100 - the graphtec still gets my vote. now I know that is not where you wanted to go but just expressing my personal experience and feelings on the matter. the titan is new for the most part so we don't know 3-4 years down the road what the reliability will be or if parts are available - betting the fc4100 is pushing 8+ years since launch and the one i had cut as good as any cutter I ever owned

1 pointYup gonna miss it but also got 12 acres in Tennessee waiting on me and a dying mother to tend to so somebody else can play with my awesome elevator . Truth is it hurts to do it but life goes on.

1 pointLittle late to the party but this is my bread and butter at least for now since I'm relocating and selling the business and building. It is doable but it takes a determination that many people just don't have because lets be fair a paycheck comes every week like clockwork but customers don't always work like that.

1 pointThe President of the United States requested that we honor France in this time of tragedy. I just took some white coroplast 18x24 blanks and laid down the rectangles. Placed several out front of the shop, on the lawn.
