Because of the risk involved!! Thats why they charge more. You can memorize anyones numbers and use them where ever you go and there is no way to verify its really your number. There was this bartender once.... at a place I frequented, she was new. I always left my card at the bar to run a tab. One night, I forgot to close my tab (the new girl was working) I came in the next day to settle up and get my card. I came back the next day (the new girl was working) and went to start a tab.... I handed her my card and she said "I don't need that, I have your number memorized!?!) Holy shit....WTF? So I married her! (I had to be safe) we have been together now for 17 years.....

US Cutter price for a Graphtec CB09 blade holder is $105.00 plus $9.99 S&H. Ebay price for a Graphtec CB09 blade holder is $9.25 including S&H. You, sir, have a strange definition of "a little cheaper"...

My guess is they didn't make those mugs using that press. They kept cutting the video at key points. I could stick the mug handle in my toaster and then reveal a perfectly sublimated mug. It's like magic.

somewhere in the past someone said use 1/2 a credit card depth as a guide for setting your blade depth . . . .This is just plain wrong - you want to cut thru vinyl that is just a few mills thick and not go into the backing paper. when properly set you will barely see the blade - take the holder out of the machine and adjust the blade so it just cuts thru the vinyl and not into the backing paper - put the holder back into the cutter and adjust your pressure. Somehow this myth of 1/2 a credit card just won't die . . . . If you use a premium blade make sure to start with too little blade and too little pressure until you get it set. premium blades have harder tips to make them last longer - this makes them more brittle and will break if you punch thru the paper into the cutting strip - when the blade makes a turn. This has been a public service announcement. Edited 12/12/15 to add skeeters instructions and the link to graphtecs instructions in the first post of the thread From Mz. skeeter and the method used most for accurate blade depth To start with, you should set your blade depth correctly, by taking the blade holder out of the machine, and firmly cut across a piece of scrap vinyl, you will be cutting. You should only be cutting the vinyl and barely a mark on wax paper backing, Adjust blade to get there, Then put the blade holder back in machine, and use the force of the machine to get there, same results, only cutting the vinyl and barely a mark in wax paper backing. from graphtec on blade depth, offset, etc http://www.graphteccorp.com/support/appnotes/TNC_004_Accurate_Blade_Setup.pdf

not greedy at all and pretty cheap - does he work for free? like you said you paid for the software and have to get a return on your investment - something he was unwilling to do. he is using he mentality that once you buy it that it cost you nothing. not only do you have to recoup the cost of that software you have to plan on future upgrades to keep in business. kinda like someone buying a printer with their tax return and then printing at about cost of materials cause the equipment is already paid for (it didn't pay for itself though!)

that is actually the case in a lot of these situations - people try to be the cheapest and compete with Chinese labor . . . and then move on in a year or so when they find they have not been making a living wage for their work

Or you can charge an amount that makes it worth the time it takes to weed and tape.

Be aware that sometimes the arm that retains the bladeholder onto the MH carriage will not keep that bladeholder down at the lowest point, allowing it to slip slightly upwards in the bracket. You have to be careful, because even tightening the set-screw to try and stop this from happening will result in the plastic arm snapping. A better solution is to take out the holder, wrap a bit of masking tape around the barrrel of the bladeholder, and then place it back into the retainer arm, gently tightening the screw until it's snug. Funny thing is ---- USCUTTER found out that it was replacing a lot of those arms for customers and didn't have enough in stock, so they actually went and bought their first 3D-printer in order to just create their own bladeholder brackets in the warehouse !!!

I still haven't heard of a pc that signblazer wasn't able to run on. Jerry built a very stable program but compared to vinyl master it just feels clunky and vinyl master just seems more intuitive to learn at least for me.

Goose I would prefer ai also but the price and monthly pay for the cloud is a draw back. I kind of like software that you buy and get the disk. Old school or just old I like having the software.

Have you "printed" to your cutter at some point? I don't know if that's possible with flexi or not. Check your printer queue. Hopefully someone else has some input.
