It's all about the time.... and, as they say, " The devil is in the details". Therefore, small amounts of additional material usually push my price up more quickly than larger amounts of a second color. Be mindful of the inordinate amount of time small details tend to add to the design & approval phases as well as the cut & application stages. Seen so many times where most of the clients time-consuming back and forth was over the smallest of details, not the bigger, main concept. I price based on the projected time to complete extra colors/details way more than the small amounts of material costs it will add. Most clients/buyers tend not to understand or appreciate these principals and I generally don't use 'size-based' formulas for labor. It's all about how long it's gonna take and each project tends to differ greatly so, learn to judge the time involved for each additional color.

I have been asked by several forum members to make a video showing how to use parchment paper to layer vinyl. Hope this will clear up questions of what I have been talking about. In the video I use clear app tape. This works great with paper taper too although not quite as easy to see through. I use this a lot for second layer effects that I want perfect. Link:

They should allow those of us with SCA to swap out for the new software. I got SCA at the beginning when they offered the discount and it sucked. I went through several upgrades with it and still hated it. I never even use it cause corel and SB are just, well, better. I would like to try out the replacement software since I bought SCA and don't use it.

Hi all, How do you charge for design with more than one color? As percentage "single color" price, calculate it as separate color or what is the most common practice? Thanks

That also, I know people who used staples to fix holes ion their pockets so anything is possible.

i have a good one i did to my step brother. I'm sure everyone remembers the intel inside sticked that came on every windows computer back in the day. so i made the emblem with small P*nnis inside and put on the step brothers trucks. his truck is white and the sticker was white. he didn't notice for two weeks... got some good laughs out of that one...

OK STOP IT WITH THE COREL INSTRUCTIONS you are perverting a good thread as they are totally different. LOL! The CS2 program is a little clunky compared to newer versions but still reasonably competent (WAY WAY better than SCALP for isntance and IMO better than Inkscape) If it's for print you just make a mask. Easiest way it to copy the inner circle ( I use the white selection arrow with the Alt key) and paste another instance on top (Edit>paste in front) If you just select it with the black tool it will select the whole circle and it is a compound path meaning it is the inner part of the circle (the hole essentially) You will also want to ungroup the Maltese because masking functions won't work between two separate groups so if you ungroup the maltese only the circle will be selected. Then just select the flag also and use the Ctrl>7 shortcut or Object>Clipping mask>make. When you paste the innre part of that circle it will be filled but just ignore that and carry on, the fill will go away once you use it as the mask shape. Basically you are cropping the pic and the circle just needs to be on top of the other. You can do this with any shape. If you were cutting this in vinyl the process would be different and more factors such as whether you will be using white or not would come into play.

Wow now I have seen about everything. I bumped into this site when looking for a vector file for a mock-up. Evidently if you Instagram (I do not) and you don't feel important enough you can just buy some followers. LMAO! What the heck is the world coming to? http://likefollow.org

havent really been trying after I hired a pro to tune it up, it just doesn't get used that much as I use hem tape for banners. I did realist it on Craigslist for too much money in case someone really wanted one, but just really in the fence as to if I really want the machine or the room
