And here's my last post showing off my work. This piece ISN'T finished yet. I still need to sand and seal it. After that I'll engrave the Orlando Cars and Coffee logo on it. Completely laser cut. I got it on the first try. It fits together perfectly with alittle help from a hammer without any glue.

I have been out of town but just got back early this morning. We ran up to Spokane WA for a large volleyball tournament. Attached is what my game day shirt had on it. Front was the top and back was the bottom. I got a lot of laughs.

This took about 4 weeks of fabrication work. Lots of trial and error. The rotary that came with the laser was just rollers that turned a glass. It was very difficult to do odd shape glasses. To get a pint glass to level with the laser you had to angle it up but this also caused the glass to slide down the rollers. Just a pain. Looked like this. I ended up designing and making my own based off of some pictures I had seen. This one allows me to adjust the angle of only 1 side of the glass. It also lets me engrave glasses with handles now. Everything was laser cut including the gears. I spent 3 days learning now gears work. You'd be surprised all the calculations involved with designing gears. Here's a video of the final product. You have NO idea the HUGE since of accomplishment I felt watching this engrave it's first glasses. The process it super easy now. remove old glass, place a new glass on the rollers and hit start. 3min and 30sec later I have a perfectly etched glass.

To calibrate the new rotary I just had to adjust the pulse width in the controller. Basically I cut a piece of tape 25mm long and made a 25mm tall box in the software. Than I adjusted the pulse width until it moved the glass 25mm (marked by the tape). Then I am able to switch ON or off the rotary setting in the software. With this type of rotary it doesn't matter what the diameter of the item you're engraving.

For anyone that is having troubles with getting their value cutter to work, the following LINK installs the cleanest version of the No-Trial SBE. http://www.uscuttersupport.com/downloads/Software/SignBlazer/signblazer_setup.exe For SC, use the LIYu, for LaserPoint II, you can select the Creation PCut CT630 and for the MH MK2, just choose RedSail or Copam CP-2500 during setup. Just wanted to have this link out there, since people keep trying to use older (broken) download pages, or versions that have the nag screens, and this version eliminates all that.

Go to the dollar store or an outlet type place that will have some cheap stainless stuff and find a test object.

What dakota is saying in a very non judgmental way is that your squeegee techniques are probably lacking as that is almost always the cause of bubbles. That's not something that is very easy to elaborate on effectively in a written monologue either. Basics are work from the middle of the graphic up and down then start across toward one side and keep your squeegee straight with a low angle to help avoid extra friction (even more important on wet app) and use plenty of force. Once you get across one half then go back and do the same the other direction. I have watched several youtube vids of wrap installation and they are all over rt. place with their squeegees but that can mislead newbies because wrap vinyl has air release channels in the adhesive that lets the bubbles out. Regular vinyl is more prone to issues if you are sloppy. This is something that actually takes practice, a lot of practice. Here is a basic pic of how I go about it (not that I'm some guru or anything)

Thanks Skare I grabbed one. That might come in handy some day. I may change the dog to a picture of my face and put BAD DAD on it though.

Customer builds custom cars. I have done a couple of cars for him. This is a custom build for the local Coca Cola Co. All I did was the graphics print and install. Started out as a 1965 Mustang. Also a mini model. mark-s
