I peck on keyboard a little but not really good t it at all. I also play harmonica mainly collect them I have some that are about 180 years old. I tried the Sax but could never get it right sounded like I was killing a goose.

Well I finally did It I decided to go for more than wine glasses and beer mugs. I got into etching the glass in picture frames, I picked up a cheapie at Walmart to just try and I think it came out ok. I did this one for my brother he loves Marilyn Monroe.

Thanks Guys, I really appreciate your help. I will get at least a 15X15 Swing Press in a SunIE. Later down the road I will try and catch a deal on a more professional model. On the Mug deal Yep looks like Cactus wraps are the way to go! I will order some and looks like a Hamilton Beach Convection oven will be in order. Heck if I get hungry while making Mugs I can always throw in some beans & bacon and have lunch!

You've got a 13x19" printer already, so I'd recommend going with the 16x20" press if you can afford it. Swing away presses are more convenient and you're less likely to burn the backs of your hands, but they require more real estate than the clam shell models. The swing aways also do a better job on larger objects as you can get more even pressure across the surface - the clam shell models want to clamp down along the back edge and you won't get as much pressure towards the front. I started with a smaller clam shell and upgraded to a 16x20" swing away as soon as I found a good deal. Like Dakotagrafx said, go with Cactus Wraps for coffee mugs and a separate hat press for doing hats. The 8-in-1 and 5-in-1 presses are never as good as dedicated separate presses. See this thread for why Cactus Wraps are better than a mug press - even a dedicated mug press.

EL I like the crossword puzzle shirt very inventive. Eddie if your colors are way off you may need to find the ICC profile for your printer.

I was a carhop at my mother's Drive In, at 9 years old...It resembled the old Dog N' Suds. This was late 50's early 60's, for 5 years. Of course that was when the Wurlitzer Jukeboxes were playing... When they changed the records my Mom got to keep them, she had boxes and boxes of the old 45's. Elvis, Conway, Eddy Arnold, Jim Reeves, Johnny Cash, Everly Brothers, Connie Francis, Brenda Lee, Patsy Cline, anyone popular back then, and even unpopular, When my mom got ill, and we were cleaning out her house, that was the only thing I asked for, All those records, So, I have a huge collection of great music, many still in the photograph sleeves, actually those sleeves can be worth more than the records themselves. I also have a console record player to play them on... So, I grew up at an early age listening to rock n' roll, and older country, but rock n' roll is still my favorite....

I use the release liner from regular vinyl as blowout paper. Point is there needs to be a protective layer between your project and the press. Clean with alcohol or maybe thinner to get rid of what's already there.
  19. 1 point
Arty is correct. You might try some alcohol? Sam's sells a 1000 feet of butcher paper for like $20.00. Do yourself a favor and pick one up. You should always cover the bottom and top of your press. It hurts when you don't do that, have a white $12.00 polo vapor shirt and end up with something from a previous job on the nice new shirt that you now have to throw away. Like they say it's cheap insurance...

I agree it looks like offset but I would check that blade depth also, its common for people starting out to put it too deep.
  21. 1 point
and how did you set your blade depth?

I'm sure Mr. White would think it was great, but still would find a way to make you feel like trash about it. Hank would find it suspicious, Jesse would think it was dope bitch, Todd would shoot you in the face for knowing about it, And Skyler would hate it, not talk to you ever, but still spend the hell outta the money it brought in. I think it's really cool!!!

Something like this... Then layer the gold on top of the red and you're done.

with 10 cactus wraps in motion I do a set of 5 mugs every 15 in - and rotate immediately - can do top to bottom and all the way to the handle without fade like every press I ever owned - so time actually is about the same except the performance near the parts that wick the heat away. if you are willing to give up that area so the fade doesn't show the press is great. also I can store the 10 wraps in a small area . . . both the wrap and press have a place in the world this is how a wrap sublimates to the edge cleanly because the entire mug is heated to 400 degrees - parts of it are not cooling the edges as the whole thing is in the oven. I do mostly edge to edge so the press cost me too many wasted units trying to get that product. I don't have to worry about staying away from the edges . . . just showing both sides of the coin

Problem is I get all these great ideas and then have more before I do them, causing a lot of build up. . . Still have a big box of sublislated, boxes of coasters, boxes of door plates, clock faces, etc. it is a sickness that infects you
