New cutter on the way and looking for Software
jarrotto replied to lablover's topic in General discussion
I have used Illustrator CS6 and currently use Illustrator CC on my MacBook Pro with Graphtec's Cutting Master 3 Plug In and it works great for me. I hardly ever use Image Trace in illustrator so i cannot speak much for it. I have not used any other cutting programs so i cant give you a comparison of Cutting Master 3 over a different software. -

The pallet was a standard half pallet I think. The box fit fine in the back of our explorer when we got it along with the Ricoh box which was large as well. I dont really have anything for size comparison but it's a decent size box for the heat press. my wife and I lifted it fine. -

Awesome. Congrats on the Fusion. I'm sure you will like it. The box / pallet is pretty big and heavy. You will want help moving it. I have moved mine alone before and it sucks! Haha -
Thanks for the answer 101LEDs. I will have to get one on my next order.

Is that the Siser Color Guide from US Cutter. I need one to replace all my swatches since i am switching away from Stahls, but don't want to pay for a guide missing a lot of colors or materials.

That looks awesome, Great job!

How detailed is your design? I mostly used glitter flake with thick designs and tried to stay away from anything with thin strips or thin sharp angled pieces. It was a pain for me to weed cause the cut lines were hard to see. I do have better lighting now but haven't cut any in a while.

Rtape AT65 Clear Choice is my favorite clear app tape. I buy it from USCutter. This application tape is formulated to allow a wet install but only on flat surfaces of course. I mostly use it for dry applications or when selling to a customer who will install it dry. Rtape 4076 RLA is good paper tape for a wet install as well. I wouldn't recommend attempting a wet install with other brands of clear tape or installing in the rain. It would seem like the rain could wash dirt back down into your work area during installation causing problems. The wet install is at 2:44 in this video.

Did you use a 60 degree blade to cut it? I did a lot of test cuts the first time I cut glitter flake from Stahls.

No Problem. Sounds like they should hook you up with Illustrator.

Converting Silhouette Studio files into Graphtec Studio files
jarrotto replied to Casper Lauritsen's topic in Other Software Programs
You are welcome, and i did post the wrong link and have corrected it. Looks like your other post follows a similar path. can you try "printing" it as a pdf without saving it as a jpeg. Then hopefully it might embed the vectors in a file. I have never used Silhouette studio so i won't be of much help. Correct thread: http://forum.uscutter.com/index.php?/topic/44120-can-someone-with-silhouette-studio-convert-a-file-for-me/ It appears an earlier version of silhouette had an option to export files. Maybe you can check into that. More info here: http://forum.make-the-cut.com/discussion/36019/studio-files-to-svg-can-it-be-done Looks like you need to find Silhouette Studio 1.9.0d and purchase a "Designer Edition" upgrade card as this is the only version that allows the .studio file to be exported to an .svg files. They deleted this feature in updates of the program.- 20 replies

Converting Silhouette Studio files into Graphtec Studio files
jarrotto replied to Casper Lauritsen's topic in Other Software Programs
Welcome to the forum. Maybe you can try this as a solution: A quote from Jmas: I use Graphtec Studio, which is basically the same thing, and it can't export either. I was googling a while back and found that you can install a PDF writing program and instead of cutting or saving your file, click print and select the PDF writer, which will make it create a PDF with your image inside. You can then open the PDF with inkscape and export the image as eps. Thread: http://forum.uscutter.com/index.php?/topic/44120-can-someone-with-silhouette-studio-convert-a-file-for-me/- 20 replies

Graphtec CE6000- Cutting out of Position
jarrotto replied to nunavik's topic in GraphTec Cutting Plotter Support Requests
hmm i have never had this happen when i have cut many duplicates of the same design. What program are you using to cut with? I usually use Cutting Master 3 PlugIn and use the Matrix Copies tab to cut multiples. It will only let you cut up to 20 rows by 20 columns of a duplicate design at a time though. I usually cut 4 - 6 rows by up to 20 columns depending on how many the vinyl can accommodate. So 80 - 120 copies at a time... Then when that job is finished i cut it off the roll, send the job to the plotter again, and start to weed and mask what has already been cut.- 6 replies

Should i buy used ce6000-60 or stick to cameo??

Looks like the $100 is a Mail In Rebate (or you can email it) from Graphtec. I just got an email from USCutter. here is a link to the rebate form provided by USCutter. http://www.uscutter.com/common/images/static/pdf/SGIARebateForm2014.pdf?utm_source=USCutter+List&utm_campaign=c72c61032f-USCutter_Weekly_Specials_Volume_13310_17_2014&utm_medium=email&utm_term=0_78aca4451f-c72c61032f-71441445&mc_cid=c72c61032f&mc_eid=e1bc4b48b7 -
Dye sublimation is for printing items with a special coating using a heat press and dye sub printer. Items like phone cases, mugs, hardboard tiles, 100% polyester shirts. The heat turns the ink into a gas and traps it into the polyester coating on the item. You don't have to laminate or do any extra coating for items made with Dye Sublimation. If you are looking for a printer that can print on vinyl it would be a Eco Solvent Printer. Like a Roland VersaCamm, Mutoh ValueJet, etc. There are also Thermo Resin printers like the Gerber Edge and whatever the one is that Sign Warehouse sales but they still cost thousands, and i think Thermo Resin type is best for spot colors instead of gradients or photographic style images.

jarrotto replied to nxtstep's topic in General discussion
I don't know I would assume it's 100 cash. Usually coastal specifies if its a gift certificate. Maybe USCutter will price match. You can try Stahls too. I bought my Hotronix Fusion from coastal without issue. Give them a call or send an email, they are very helpful. -
I leave mine sitting for months at a time and it prints perfect every time I use it.
