My son one day shopping in there with me said it best... "They sell tools and tool shaped objects, the hard part is telling the difference"

check for loose set screws on the grit rollers, check belt tension, check for sloppyness in the blade holder, then jack up that roll of vinyl and slide a graphtec or roland under it - problem solved

I swear that's the best thing it deserves. Won't cut detail like it did better awhile ago.

Thats what I was thinking dakota. Wonder if I should check on drivers for it and preload on my laptop and drag it with me and try and send a file to it and watch it run for a sec. Since it is not his I am sure he has no computer or way to send a test file. He claim it came from a Fast Signs shop. They upgraded. (that is what makes me think they just snagged the blade holder for an extra for their new machine.)

Let me put on my chemistry nerd lab coat for a second... As temperature increases, chemical reactions speed up. The rule of thumb is that every increase of 10°C will double the rate of a reaction. Standard room temp is about 25°C, and a good hot day of 95°F is about 35°C, so expect your RapidTac II type app fluid to activate the adhesive twice as fast - or, in other words, you only have half as long to get it straight and squeeze the bubbles out on a hot day. Since Rapid Tac II will set your adhesive in <2 minutes at close to 0°C, you could get as little as 20 seconds of wiggle time on a really hot day! You can lengthen this time by cooling your intended substrate and your app fluid to around 75°F before applying and thus slowing down the reaction.

If there not a post limit he could download from the graphics request to start cutting then buy clipart as needed .

I use the wheel of pokey things. Its looking pretty empty, they have a way of finding themselves in every room in the building where they don't belong.

A shallow cardboard box. By the way, I transfer my wet app fluid from the large bottle into a small one that has a misting pump (like a perfume mister) -- the regular sprayers put out too much fluid and I prefer a fine spray coverage.

I can imagine your frustration, Hatter. I own a Chinese Chopper as well (TC) and I'm just biding my time till it's played out. It's payed for itself many times over and continues to work flawlessly but, the first time it gives me any serious problem... UPGRADE time. I am a firm believer in, "you get what you pay for" and bought middle of the road, value cutter for good reason. But I've got to hand it to this model, it's taken everything I've thrown at it and given me back a well cut job with no back-talk. On USB, at that. It cut a 19.5 foot fork template last month with perfect tracking. No run-out in 6 and a half yards... amazing. I haven't had the pleasure of a pro (servo) machine as yet but, gotta say, for 5 bills, the TC has satisfied me so far.

QUOTE> Could someone please help me out?< Vectoring in Inkscape; Open Inkscape, top menu FILE>IMPORT click your image file... .jpg, .png, .bmp, etc. the image should appear with arrows at the corners, if not click on it once on the top menu PATH>TRACE BITMAP default 'brightness cutoff' radio button should already be clicked (this option is for 2 color black and white images... more on the other choice as you progress) If you click the update bar you will see your image, then click OK. Close this box. grab your top image (it should say 'path' at the bottom of screen) and move it out of the way, there should be another image below it. when you grab this one, it should say 'image' on the bottom bar. Delete the one that says 'IMAGE'. (the bottom one) move the other image (path) back into the bounding box. top menu FILE>DOCUMENT PROPERTIES when this box opens up, click the 'Fit Page To Selection' Bar. Close that box. top menu FILE>SAVE AS name your file and most folks round here save in the .eps (Encapsulated Postscript) format. It's the drop down box below where the file name goes Click SAVE. I prefer to save my files as .svg Some folks say save as both, .svg and .eps Inkscape won't allow (I've heard there's a work-around) you to import an .eps file to edit the nodes. You can import them into another program (AI) and convert them to .svg then import to Inkscape. I prefer to work with .svg's and Signcut works with them just fine. I'm telling you all this cause your invariably gonna have to clean up your vectors. No matter what you save your file as, while it is still in Inkscape, you can adjust the nodes and save in whatever file format you want. Get the above mentioned instructions down pat and you'll be ready to start editing your vectors.

DO NOT use windex. It has chemicals (I think ammonia) that affects the adhesive of the vinyl. Drop or 2 of dish soap or shampoo to spray bottle of water. I personally use store bought such as right on and rapid prep.

never ever use windex - the amonia attacks the adhesive - water, few drops of baby shampoo and some rubbing alcohol

I just got an order of 100 shirts from sanmar this afternoon and 2 shirts weren't there and 1 was stained from the bottom of the box. Emailed them and in less than an hour I've got an order confirmation that they're ready for ups pickup. Moral of the store is customer service is the best business practice. Oh yeah didn't need pictures of damaged shirt or make me send it back and wait. Uscutter staff might need to take away some pointers from that.

I am disappointed they tried to sell off a roll and not sewn as advertised. if you wanted off a roll you would have ordered a roll

When I work from pictures I always measure something on vehicle for reference such as long window. Then I draw a rectangle that size in the program and stretch the image until my rectangle is the same as the part I used for the reference.
