You just don't get it, do you. The sharing of copyrighted material is not allowed here, nor are the staff going to allow you to use this forum as a means to acquire them. In this day and age, if you are not able to acquire ANY image you need either through google or recreating it yourself, then maybe you are in the wrong profession.

Google= Not just an "Enabler"... They are an "Infringer" as well.

They make their money off our images on their web pages without our permission.

Tons of us should get together and file a class action law suit against them.

I had someone steal my original images before, Their reply "They were in Google Images"  But if you click on those images, they go right to someones website.  They do not belong to Google.

Correct, they do not own the images and you will eventually get to the hosting website clicking on them but,

Google is making a tidy sum (mostly) without consent using the images.

Pintrest is another example of this type of business model.

We should create a sub forum just for Copyright requests.... then people can post there.  The autobot could be set up to delete each post as soon as the "post" button is clicked.....

Care to explain how Google is making money off of hosting thumbnails of images?   They've already survived numerous lawsuits from porn companies over this very topic...

Worst case, they're making money off of ad impressions that show up when you search - and that's about it.

You can tag all of your images as copyrighted and people who use Google Image search should know that you can designate the license arrangements when you search so that only images you can legally use will show up in your searches:   Click on Search Tools and then Usage Rights.   If people choose to ignore that, it's on them - not on Google.

Google makes most of it's money off advertising... over 37 billion a year.

'Our' images they present are part of the total package that attracts folks to their site.

It's true that "Ad Words" (I think it's called) contributes most of their actual revenue but,

the search engine for sites and images is the largest contributor to their reputation & renown.

I am not able to determine the percentage that those images contribute but,

they do, without a doubt, contribute to it's popularity.

I would speculate that the vast majority of the images on Google are being used without the owners permission.

Anyone else that wants or tries to use anothers property for their own gain is subject to fees or penalities.

Regardless of the public's ignorance of copyright law, they are likely the largest enabler of those violations.
