Awhile back I asked for some advice on how to price graphics for an 18ft Covered Trailer. Long story short I got the job, and here is how it turned out.

OK the "Plotter" comment was really helpful. Turns out the issue is that I wasn't setting up the cutter in the software. I was stuck in traditional printer theory but I got it working. Thanks for the help all.

It was fun. BUT. Strange thing. We wiped down the windows and what not. These decals would NOT stick...I dunno what the problem was. I let it sit for a few minutes and it started to stick. Very weird.

I know it's been entirely too long for me. I'm doing a full back up of all my business related folders - fonts, clipart, invoices, cutomer designs, etc. Almost 148,000 files and 114 GB... Gonna be a while, even copying to a USB 3 hard drive...

I'm rather surprised no one has ever created a converter tool. People create converters all the time for proprietary files, I've never looked at a .studio file, but I wouldn't think it would be all that complicated to reverse engineer. Guess maybe there isn't a large enough demand for it.

You're handcuffed when "renting" your programs by the month also... stop paying and you can't use the files unless you saved to a universal file type like eps. AND I am sure they are trying to figure out how to eliminate that too. Sue2

I have never understood the thought process of making it impossible to output files to other formats.

first thing you are missing is it is a plotter and not a printer - it will not install like or as a printer. I personally went to the links and downloaded the instructions and they worked for me - now as for the adapter - the preferred and one that is known to work properly is the tripplite keyspan adapter - and must be used with the null modem serial cable that was included with the plotter. once you have that you match the comm port in the program to match the one the computer sees = Now if you bought a generic usb to serial adapter about 80 percent of the people we see on the forum don't get them to work as the chipset in those are as bad as the ones in the plotters from the factory (it actually communicates thru serial but has a flaky internal chipset connected to the usb port on the plotter. if you are still unable to get it going I would suggest contacting uscutter support during their business hours of 8-4 pst to walk you thru the process -

Looks Great Don't use windex it has ammonia in it, bad for vinyl adhesive. Want to stick with a non ammonia based cleaner http://secure.nhbragg.com/product/sprayway-sw050-glass-cleaner-26149/ This is what we use to clean glass

Take it easy. Bob was simply answering the previous post, which said you could NOT cut directly. Unlike some people. Bob has been VERY willing to share his knowledge.
