Build a sandblaster of course! Had an old, out of date, propane cylinder that was just going to get recycled anyway, so I decided to make something useful with it. A friend used it to sandblast his tractor, so that's how it ended up Farmall red. Now I just have to find an excuse to try etching some glass. The laser can do it well enough, but it takes forever to raster anything of decent size. I'm thinking a stencil will go way faster.

Lol My wife's cousin asked me to do him some shirts (htv). I kept telling him a price but he kept playing it off like he didnt hear me. He brings me the shirts that he wanted and told me he'll buy me lunch. It was 5 shirts. So what I did was just cut it out and told him "you weed it and press it". He messes up a few shirts while pressing it....oh well! Btw I ordered a big lunch lol I dont know why family is like that....

I second KEYSIGN's comment about the sand. It's soon tempting to use the $3 bag of silica sand at the local lumber yard but unless you are properly protected it will quite literally kill you. Even worse if you are using it at your house the particles will come in on your clothes and kill your family too. Very miserable way to go almost the same effects as mesothelioma from asbestos. IT doesn't kill you that day but will show up in a few years once those little silica particles have cut their way into your lungs.

Ok so a friend that says I'm her brother to people wants me to make 16 shirts and 2 different colors. I quote her 10 each shirt and she said that's to much and says the swapmeet guy said $8.00. Now she wants a image on the front and a slogan on the back in htv. We settle on a price last month. This is for a wedding party. So they all gave her the money last sat for there shirts. So she was supposed to give me a deposit tuesday and she needs these done by the 23rd. I text her like sis what's up with the deposit and the pictures so i can start on your shirts. She go i been busy with the daycare and dont have time to go to the bank. I lol cuz last time she transfered it to my account. So then yesterday im like what's up with the picture and what slogan u want so i can start. She snaps a says you must need some money. I'm like wtf i don't need the money i do have a 9to5. She say i can have the other guy print them and dont have to give him no deposit. You should know be better than that. I basically say then have him print them cause I'm not. I think she spent the money on a bill and is waiting for the daycare parents to pay her.

I have a 30" cutter and it only has 2 pinch rollers and works perfect.
  9. 1 point
I've never needed 3 rollers but your results may vary.

Are your pinch rollers line up with the grit rollers underneath the vinyl?

My biggest client says hey I need to put in another order real soon, I'll text you the shirt count and sizes. A month goes by and nothing. Finally he gets back with me and then asks how soon can I get these done, like wanting them in a couple days and we are talking hundreds of shirts that I could have been working on this whole time he has been procrastinating. So hard to bite my tongue but it's my bread an butter and he does this every time so I have gotten used to it. I just smile and say I can bring you a few special ones if you have certain ones you need first.

I had a failure on a car in 24 hours. Used the rest for packing tape however to be fair I know some people that I respect that swear by Greenstar. I do use their app tape in the store now because of the price but on RTA I use 4076RLA.

Yep red GS in just a couple years. Not selling that to anyone I want as a long term customer. To be fair this has sat facing the afternoon sun but I see 651 handle that every day and never give up like that stuff.

I would build a blast cabinet next. You don't want to waste your blast media. Please don't use regular sand unless you want silicosis.

Problem fixed. For some reason I have several cutters in my devices. I changed it and now it works!

I guess you wanted black & white plus blue and not full color? SCflag_03c.svg SCflag_03c.eps The file allows for either stacked or inlaid construction. Pick your preference from the various color layers.

Skeeter always give great advice and her blade setting tutorial is becoming legendary on the forum. Each cutter is going to be a little different and I don't own what you do but typically I recommend you run about 25 to 30% of maximum cutting speed at least until you learn enough to know what you are doing. There is no advantage to cutting faster other than actually finishing the job sooner and in fact on some cutters you can cause issues with the cut performance trying to blow and go. I run a top of the line cutter which has speeds available from 50mm/sec clear up to 800mm/sec and I run mine at 200 almost all the time and sometimes slow it down even more on precise cutting of tiny objects and text. I don't know what the Titan has for speed nomenclature but if you do the math and pick 25% of the highest you will at least be safe. If that seems super slow compared to what you have seen on youtube then speed it up a bit. The Titans seem to be a solid machine so I think once you get it figured out you'll have a lot of fun with that thing. Cutting force I would start at 60 grams assuming Titans use grams and work up like Skeeters blade set instructions said until you are cutting through the vinyl and just barely leaving a mark on the backing. You should not be able to feel the cut from the back side. Each vinyl will be a little different so you will become familiar with the text cut feature and use it regularly. Welcome to the forum (from Idaho) and you will soon be just as addicted as the rest of us.

Welcome from Indiana So read the Titan 2 instruction manual Cutters are pretty basically the same,, Just the buttons are different. . Any cutting and design software you will have to learn. Most have HELP at the top of the layout screen, open it up and learn... Also many youtube.com videos.. I think VinylMaster also has tutorials if you do searches for them,,,online. Unless you purchase a high end cutter from a sales person at a store, or take classes some where it is pretty much self learn. But I will put this out here for you so you can set your blade correctly from the start. To start with, you should set your blade depth correctly, by taking the blade holder out of the machine, and firmly cut across a piece of scrap vinyl, you will be cutting. You should only be cutting the vinyl and barely a mark on wax paper backing, Adjust blade to get there, Then put the blade holder back in machine, and use the force of the machine to get there, same results, only cutting the vinyl and barely a mark in wax paper backing.

The inner diamond on my offering is colored separately to allow cutting just them alone, as well. nfpaDiamondOnly_02b.svg nfpaDiamondOnly_02b.eps

There are a few die-hards who get upset when I bash the GS vinyl but you will have a longer lasting product with Oracal. The 651 calendared is a pretty good product but the 751 or 951 premium cast are sensational. They cut and weed really nice and will not shrink because of the process used in making cast vinyl. The cost of vinyl is such a small part of the whole price of most work that the extra is pretty easy to build in to your price. I like to use 751 for window decals and you might be surprised at how much easier it is too weed. The GS vinyl is super thick and actually has some great applications too but the adhesion is sub-par for detailed work like your images and I have had some shrink up like you can't believe on some mid sized text on a couple property for sale 4'x 8's that I did. I quit using it for all but a few certain things. I will sometimes use it to cover an entire signboard when I need to change the background color on a non permanent sign. It is thick enough that you can actually install it with a Big Squeegee without app tape and it seems to stay put pretty good for those applications. I have used it on several banners without incident but they were nice big lettering and graphics. Also works great for shelf liner inside cabinets, and I say that sort of tongue in cheek but I really used some about 3 years ago and it's till there taking a beating every day in some very old cabinets in my house and I have actually been impressed with it's toughness.

Same here its easier to navigate you can go to all apps by clicking the window icon on the left (sort of a start icon) and Everything seems to flow easily and smoothly. Only downfall I had was to reload my video driver than download the update but that's ok it got fixed. everything else works. Step up from 8.1 where if you wanted anything you had to put it on the desktop or go between the apps and windows.
