so the local walmart distro ctr donated some refrigerators to the prom afterglow

Recommended Posts

I was asked if I would wrap a couple of the refrigerators donated by the local walmart distrribution center and agreed to donate 1 and charge for the other - they showed up today and they wasn't the new ones I expected  Turns out they are the ones they used there - now I buy scratch and dent NEW refrigerators to sell but after doing these - there is no way anyone would afford to pay me to do them if they wasn't in new condition - cleaning, body filler, paint before wrapping is not my idea of a good evening.   I am doing it for the kids I keep telling myself.  1 down (they picked patterns) 1 to go

Body filler on a fridge?

What kind of shape were they in when you got them?

What are they for?

That thing made me dizzy looking at it. Can you do mine like that maybe I'll lose some weight if my head spins every time I look at the fridge. Nice execution and remember you're doing it for the kids.

they are dented badly in spots and needed much cleaning especially around the edges as I want the vinyl to stay adhered.  normally I stick to camo and the one reef fridge I posted before but they wanted one girlie - I am thinking most of the girls will want the camo one I am doing next

Most of what I do is camo - but they wanted pink.  My helper is kinda loafing tonight - I have to get Johns trick for getting fred to help more than this.

Kinda taking a break now before the other one and hoping it doesn't turn into  . . . .well maybe tomorrow.

I've got 5 of em at home 4 black lab mix and and stray I took in years ago that my mother says is long hair Chihuahua. I don't think they would let me get any work done if they were at the shop especially since 3 of the labs are only 5 months old and wound like rubber bands.

Bet you could have found straighter ones in the scrap yard? Wow pink with white dots were they high? Pink ammo yeah no problem but that? Great job though Dakota.

I buy dented fridges from Lowe's all the time as long as it is on the sides for the rental units once they are slide in between the cabinets you usaly can't see the dents and I pay close to half off ( thanks to people that can't run a fork lift ) and if they were not dented the renters would probably manage to do it .

Yeah depending on where it is going to be installed it may only need the front to be presentable. Great work on the wraps, they look great and you will have some more product pictures to show off to potential clients. Plus doing it for an event might get your business some exposure.

I want to buy 1 for at the store and wrap it so it looks there' s a severed head on the shelf and maybe some crime scene tape across it. Think it would go over well now that the zombie culture is so popular.

last 1 - they are giving away 17 fridges - so there might be more to come if they look like these did when the arrived.  the gal that dropped them off also said someone on the committee with a business is thinking about doing one - better be new!

Those are great Dakota!  I am curious about this now too.....  I just happen to have a fridge like this sitting around doing nothing and now I would like to try to wrap it.  It would be my first attempt but what the heck.  What would you charge for the wrap for that size fridge?  I think I might be in the mood to experiment.  You can pm me if you want.

Thanks

god help ya man - 3 babies - took this one 5 years to behave well enough to not be crated when we left or went to bed - never had a dog that needed crated over 2 weeks before but he has been mischievious

I have a doggy door so they come and go as they please and let me tell you they will wreak a path of destruction wherever they go. I just put up a divider in the back hall so they can't run through the house while I'm gone. Had 9 puppies to start with so I'm actually glad I got this low. Still got 1 that would love a good home other than mine. Please somebody. Anybody. I'd ship here but she'd eat through the crate before I even go to UPS Store. My big one is 6 now and he finally stop shredding everything a few years ago.

i have one black but he has never been destructive. Maybe he was for the people that dumped him out at our house. Or maybe the dumping taught him a lesson. He was quite territorial tho and i had to break him of that. Still don't trust him around other strange dogs. When he first showed up and any other dogs entered the yard he went for the throat.

LOve the fridges. Would love to do that but i don't see it happening. :)

I live in the sticks and my big lab is better than ADT at deterring the and 1 hour faster than the sheriff's dept. for response time. I never taught him to be like that or encouraged it and I've had him since he fit in the palm of my hand but I have learned to appreciate it and feel more secure knowing that to get to me you have to go through him. As for destructive he grew out of it fairly fast and I pray the puppies do to before they literally eat me out of house and home.

thanks theresa, took him to the third vet - this one an ortho specialist and it appears his pain is a pinched nerve and could take quite a while to heal - last dog that we had that couldn't put weight on a leg was a torn ligiment and $1600 - so now it looks like just a long recover.

Love the wraps!  Where can I find camo vinyl at?  New to this stuff and what I found for camo is extremely expensive.
