No, absolutely not. Once the sofware is downloaded and first activated online, then it's fully functional from that point. I must say, right from the beginning of opening the program, it's a well-thought-out user interface, with plenty of features. I'm pretty sure USCUTTER is hoping for this to replace SCAL'pro' --- I believe they'll find their customers being glad they've UPGRADED with this software. After the first five minutes of my using it, I'm glad I got this. I had it cutting on the MH machine right from the get-go, no problems.

SignCut Pro does spoil one to the point of causing bad habits. It separates colors, it also takes text as text without having to convert to curves. Other cutting software you can't just throw things at it, you have to plan more carefully. As to the Inkscape colors to layers thing, I can't think of a way to do it, but I will recommend the official IRC Inkscape chat channel. You may have to hang out for a bit to find a knowledgeable person. If you just ask a question wait five minutes and pop out, you are probably not going to get answers. Wait a few hours. Point your irc client to irc://irc.freenode.org/#inkscape They have a webchat interface, but using you own client is best. https://inkscape.org/en/community/discussion/

Just a quickie... (Why do I use Photoshop, bevins?... 'cause I can. ...and for many projects, It already does what other software wishes it could do and because of that, and most importantly, it sells jobs. This file I created in Ps at 600 dpi at 28,000 pixels wide. It is ready to print without pixelation or the sacrafices vectors would force on the veggies and bread. This is , for obvious reasons, a low-res version.)
