Fatboy

Said goodbye to a friend yesterday.

Sad day in the doggy community.

Said goodbye to my best friend for 15 years, I'll always love you Buddy I'll never forget the first time i seen you when i was 10 years old just coming home from school. you've been by my side everyday since then.

Sucks to say goodbye to a family member. 2 legged 4 legged whatever family is family.

I saved buddy when he was 3 years old.

He had a bunch of cuts on him and was so dirty i thought he was brown lol

they used to use him to train fighting dogs.

He lived to be 18 years old and this is him

He lived a great life once i got my hands on him.

R.I.P. Buddy Lee

Sorry for your loss. I feel your pain. Been there several times, except I've never had the pleasure of a long term friend and family member. We can't seem to get past 4 years. I thought we were going through it again with our cat. She got wobbly and was falling over. Didn't know what to think. We were out of town, so my mother in law took her to the vet. She somehow stumbled away from three people and ran into a small patch of woods. She was there 4 days, including going through a violent thunderstorm. We got home after midnight last night. I got up and went straight to the wooded area and walked it. Found her in 15 minutes. Took her to the vet  and he gave her a steroid shot. She is considerably better.

Sorry for your loss:

Rainbow Bridge:

'There is a bridge connecting Heaven and Earth. It is called the Rainbow Bridge because of its many colors. Just this side of the Rainbow Bridge there is a land of meadows, hills and valleys with lush green grass.

When a beloved pet dies, the pet goes to this place. There is always food and water and warm spring weather. All the animals who have been ill and old are restored to health and vigor; those who were hurt or maimed are made whole and strong again, just as we remember them in our dreams of days and times gone by.

The animals are happy and content, except for one small thing; they each miss someone very special to them, who had to be left behind. They all run and play together, but the day comes when one suddenly stops and looks into the distance. Her bright eyes are intent; her eager body begins to quiver. Suddenly she begins to run from the group, flying over the green grass, her legs carrying her faster and faster. You have been spotted, and when you and your special friend finally meet, you cling together in joyous reunion. The happy kisses rain upon your face; your hands again caress the beloved head, and you look once more into the trusting eyes of your pet, so long gone from your life but never absent from your heart.

Then you cross the Rainbow Bridge together, never again to be separated.'

Sorry to hear about your Buddy.  It's hard to say goodbye to our furry little friends especially one that was with you that long.  I had a dog growing up that lived to be 16 years old...he and I grew up together and he was a great companion. Hard to see them go...but all we can do is show them love and care for their short little lives so that when the time comes, they will remember how great you are and continue to watch down from above.

Pretty Sheltie! My parents have one that looks similar to that and my bro has a black and white one.  His looks like a mini Border Collie.

They ARE a part of our life and to them we are their whole life - a good home is the best we can give them while they are with up - still hurts terrible when their time is up.  just had to put down our favorite siamese a couple months ago - right before that out youngest birman, the list goes on and on and it never gets easier but we can know we gave them the best home we could

I didn't think I was much attached to the afore cat, but I got just a little emotional when I found her. Couldn't imagine how I would've felt had it been the worst case scenario.
