SeeJaysPlace 476 Posted March 29, 2014 I'm wondering if i my Epson can print on canvas .. it's a Epson Stylus Pro 7600 Print Engine with Photographic Dye™ Ink http://www.epson.com/cgi-bin/Store/support/supDetail.jsp?BV_UseBVCookie=yes&infoType=Overview&oid=14412&prodoid=19302856&category=Products http://plotter-paper-rolls.com/water-resist-canvas-20-2-mil-24-x-35-1-roll-2-core-7682435/ ?? http://www.plotterpaper.com/plotter-paper/hp-media-2-core/hp-photo-papers/hp-everyday-instant-dry-gloss/hp-everyday-instant-dry-satin-9-1-mil-24-x-100-q8920a?gclid=CP_X_Jvatr0CFaw-MgodDnUAUA
pshawny 410 Posted March 29, 2014 You should be able to. There is quite a bit to learn, but it's pretty fun too. I use pigment inks and roll my varnish on, but with dye inks you may have to spray it on with a hlvp spray gun. Do some youtube searches and you'll see how the process works. This is the canvas that I use, http://www.breathingcolor.com/action/bc_shop/141/ & varnish, http://www.breathingcolor.com/action/bc_shop/160/ & stretcher bars, http://www.breathingcolor.com/action/bc_shop/243/ They also have some nice photo papers. NichoDesign 5 Posted March 29, 2014 I use a local dealer here and gives me a very good price 4-8$/sq. ft depending on which canvas and I must say when I print 66x60 the price is just right and compared to your other online vendors I get it at 1/3 price. All I can suggest is check with local vendor and make a relationship worth keeping and use them if possible.

Nicho is right, you can get them printed, and framed almost as cheap as you can do it yourself.

Dawn's Design 403 Posted March 29, 2014 I use sublimation to do this.
pshawny 410 Posted March 29, 2014 Yes, that starter kit would work. With the 17" canvas you could make 12"x12", 12"x20", etc. You loose about 4" to the wrapping process. Later on if you decide to order more, with the 24" canvas you can make 16"x20", 20"x30", etc. This forum has lots of good printing info, http://www.luminous-landscape.com/forum/ Here are a few other random things that I order for canvas making. http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B0053QH0BS/ http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B000XHO6PU/ http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B000BPSUTM/ http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B0002JSZCO/ http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00CPSO7FO/
SeeJaysPlace 476 Posted March 29, 2014 Sad to say I'm kinda exited to start doing this .. My epson 7600 24' printer has been collecting dust for 3 years not not knowing what i could do with it or what i wanted to do with it !.. now i need to get my printer from my mom's house to my house ASAP LOL but i can't lift if alone LoL and i need to find room in this little office for it lol
SeeJaysPlace 476 Posted March 29, 2014 I have this already ! http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B000BPSUTM/
pshawny 410 Posted March 29, 2014 If it's been sitting unused for 3 years then you might have some clogging issues. I'd do a test print and some cleaning cycles to see how bad it is before ordering anything or moving it. They are definitely a pain in the butt to move. I'd hate to try to move a 44" printer. The 24" was bad enough.
pshawny 410 Posted March 29, 2014 I actually bought my 7900 from a guy just outside of Minneapolis. I'm still not sure how the two of us moved that thing without dropping it.
SeeJaysPlace 476 Posted March 29, 2014 I'm 15 miles north of Minneapolis, in Blaine, MNPshawny, if you could give me a call that would be awesome i have so many questions! 763-218-2735 this is my printer!
pshawny 410 Posted March 29, 2014 I've only had my printer for 6 months, so I'm still learning myself. You can PM me with questions & I'll try to help.
knucklehead 530 Posted March 29, 2014 If the printer has had 'dye' inks in it, it'll be a lot easier to get going, than if it has pigments. A couple ten cleanings, and a power clean or two should do it. I had a 7000 with dyes, it had sat for five years when I bought it. The 9600 I've got now, had sat for almost a year. And I moved it by myself.

pshawny 410 Posted March 31, 2014 I figured it would be pretty clogged after sitting idle for 3 years. Maybe these links have some answers... https://www.fixyourownprinter.com/forums/printer/67561 http://www.inksupply.com/purging.cfm
