wanako 0 Posted February 13, 2011 I'm still very new at this so it may not be the best. Here something I designed and cut out for a website/car club. They loved it. Here's some I've done for myself: and some for a friend of mine and his car group.
NiteWalker 10 Posted February 13, 2011 Nice job! I love the thundercats logo and the android. Both the car logos are really nice too. What's your cutter and software? And what kind of cutting mat is that? Keep it up! Can't wait to see what else you come up with.
bayotle 26 Posted February 13, 2011 looks as good as anything I've ever done, keep up the good work!
mingle 0 Posted February 13, 2011 What was your average weeding time for those top decals? I see there's quite a bit of weedable spaces... how many did you do in total? Looks really great! Just wondering on how fast you could weed p/decal. Caleb

All of this stuff is at work so I don't own any of it but am allowed to use it. looks as good as anything I've ever done, keep up the good work! Thank you What was your average weeding time for those top decals? I see there's quite a bit of weedable spaces... how many did you do in total? Looks really great! Just wondering on how fast you could weed p/decal. Caleb Weeding time at first it was taking me like 5-10 minutes each just because I wasn't used to it at all. After I got the hang of it I came down to 3-5 each, but unfortunately at work, some of the equipment is missplaced and I didn't have a weeder to do this with, so I ended up using an Exact-o knife or my box cutter or anything pointy to weed. That was a pain. So far, I've done maybe 60-70 of these in varying colors.
mingle 0 Posted February 13, 2011 That's pretty awesome, I use a pointed weeding tool I got from H&H Sign Supply, believe it was around $4.95? Has a rubber grip and the needle is replaceable.. just if you're looking for one

ihscout 0 Posted February 14, 2011 How good is that Gerber ($11k)? What makes it so spectacular? http://www.hyatts.com/art/gerber-envision-375-15inch-plotter-T10412 Gerbers are designed for heavy commercial/industrial use. They can cut heavy materials all day long every day. Their prices are still insane. Ill never forget the first time I opened ours and found the blade holder drive chain had failed. (dont remeber the tech name for it) I was amazed at how simple the plotter was. Well, at least considering the cost of the unit. The parts are insanely expensive and repair service is even worse. The software rocks... Its expensive too. Youde have to be a pretty large production facility to warrant that investment.
mingle 0 Posted February 14, 2011 Haha, you'd think though that if a big production facility was going to want to cut that much... they'd invest in a wider one than that? To get more per row, etc. Oh well! Thanks for your informative post!
wanako 0 Posted February 17, 2011 some of our locations have a 15" and I think another one has a 30" but I'm not sure if it's also Gerber. as ihscout said, that thing loves heavy materials. To put it in perspective, it can cut Magnet material like nothing.
