jovial 1 Posted June 29, 2015 I just started cutting HTV and noticed with the Easyweed that I have to have my pressure way higher than I do with Oracal 651, which is what I normally use. An I'm guessing that because of the pressure being so high, it makes the vinyl want to stick to the rollers. Any pro tips on what I'm doing wrong or things to look out for? pshawny 410 Posted June 29, 2015 You should be able to cut EasyWeed with the same pressure as 651. Remember to mirror your design and cut on the dull side of the material.
mb20music 760 Posted June 29, 2015 I find I sometimes need to increase the blade just a bit when cutting HTV.
djque 246 Posted June 29, 2015 siser weed is really thin I have to lower my pressure to cut. its different than the thermoflex that I always use. I will most likely be buying a new bladeand holder just for it. since my other material has its own.

Wildgoose 4,200 Posted June 29, 2015 Jovial, you might have a broken or dull tip. Easy weed (especially stretch) will not cut great without a decent blade because the carrier is a bit soft and it will bunch up if you pressure up. I agree with the others, i use the same as 651 but could go down if I wanted to. The beauty is it's pretty safe to overcut a little because the carrier is tough enough to take it without cutting through.
KYSIGN 233 Posted June 30, 2015 I have a dedicated blade holder for HTV and I use lower pressure and less blade. I find that cutting into the carrier dulls my blade much faster.
mr300s 1,272 Posted June 30, 2015 Sounds like you may be cutting on the wrong side?
jovial 1 Posted June 30, 2015 I think I may also buy an extra blade/holder just for the htv. Any ideas on why the vinyl wants to peel off the clar backing and stick to the feed rollers? Do I need to drop the pressure on the rollers? Anyone else have this problem? I'm sure that the more I do, the easier it will get. Just frustrating sometimes when starting something new. jaybyrd 3,770 Posted June 30, 2015 Sounds like too much pressure from the rollers but to be honest I can't recall having ever read of that happening.
