SCALP cutting through designs...

Recommended Posts

We just received and are trying to setup SCALP with a Laserpoint II and have reached a point where the cutter is putting two horizontal lines through each separate shape we try to cut. Its consistently doing this no matter what. Nothing in the software config has made a difference.
It feels like a software problem as opposed to an issue with the hardware.
Though we did find that when first attempting to cut with the LaserPoint II we ran into a snag with the pressure.
The pressure was so heavy that the cutting head drove down into the surface of the cutter scratching it. Is this normal for a new, just-unboxed cutter???  :(

Thanks for the input.

From US CUTTER support

If you are getting two horizontal lines through your cut job when using Sure Cuts a Lot, this is because the software hasn't been activated. It is running in trial mode and is putting a watermark through your work. You can activate the software by going to the Help menu and clicking "Activate". You'll be prompted to enter your name and the serial number for the software. The serial number can be found on the Sure Cuts a Lot package near the bar code. It is a 25 digit number with dashes in it. Make sure to enter the dashes as they are required. Then click OK. The software will thank you for activating and it will no longer cut the extra lines through your jobs.

Thank you. Mz Skeeter.

On to a new (somewhat related) problem...  the cutter seems to not be lifting the blade high enough when it moves from one cut to another.
So if I am cutting the word "THE" it leaves one diagonal cut as the blade travels from the T, to the H, to the E....
The software is now activated...  not sure what the issue may be (LaserPointII settings maybe?) or is that part of the software settings?

PS: these diagonal lines were not occurring before. Only the horizontal lines were a problem.
Since the software was activated these lines began to appear consistently on every cut...  !!!!
For that reason I am doubtful that it has something to do with the machine.
