altereddezignz 1 Posted April 20, 2014 Ok so I have a see through picture frame that I need to put the vinyl on the back side of it so that it is smooth. Any ideas on this. If I just mirror the image the vinyl apply and looks funny Bc of the sticky side.
skarekrow 1,842 Posted April 20, 2014 Create a stencil with the plotter and paint it on the back of the glass.
altereddezignz 1 Posted April 20, 2014 Hmm never really thought about it.
xpaperman 719 Posted April 20, 2014 If you do it.... post a pic of the finished product!
pshawny 410 Posted April 20, 2014 I suppose you could apply the vinyl to something clear that could be slipped into the frame.
xpaperman 719 Posted April 20, 2014 Let me ask you this...... is the "see through" frame you are using the kind with two pieces of glass? I have done this type of thing with "double pane" frames. the vinyl goes on one piece of glass normal then the other piece of glass goes on top of it.... then into the frame!
altereddezignz 1 Posted April 20, 2014 Yes and no. I jave been doing the double pain glass for a while now bit it gets expensive when your doing 4-5 a week.
Jay2703 704 Posted April 20, 2014 Why not just the vinyl mirrored on the back side. I've done doors like that and you can hardly tell the adhesive is there.
xpaperman 719 Posted April 20, 2014 If your using the double pane.... that cost gets passed on to the customer, no matter how many your doing a week. I usually get my 11x17's on sale for about 10 bucks. I sell them starting at 40 bucks.
altereddezignz 1 Posted April 20, 2014 I know to pass the coat on but I have a bunch of family members I want to do them for and just looking for a cheaper alternative.
Cal 393 Posted April 20, 2014 I would like to see a couple examples of what y'all are doing here. Sounds interesting, but I can't quite get my head around it. Cal
Coaster36 327 Posted April 20, 2014 I do it just like paper man says. I get mine at joann fabric with the 40% off coupon. They come out to like 9 bucks. You cant get much cheaper then that for a family gift. Heres one I did for a friends wedding present.

Coaster36 327 Posted April 21, 2014 paperman where are you buying your frames? Mine dont come with a nice way to transport the frame. Mine just come with corner guards.
xpaperman 719 Posted April 21, 2014 I got my last batch at Kohl's. I caught them on sale and on the day I was there the was some additional sale of some kind that they were taking off another 25 percent or something..... friends and family discount I think she said..... any way, got them for $7.50 each. Kohls' has the better "packing". Also they have a nice thick frame. I have bought some at Wally World cause you can get them for about the same price but they have less packing around them and the frame itself is thinner and in my opinion looks kinda cheap.
