You'll have to click on pic to show whole car.

Be careful when you approach the rear of the car.  Try not to bump it,  they tend to catch fire and blow up.

Big stink over a rare problem kinda like dateline with the chevy trucks blowing up. Ford screwed up by letting the data get exposed that said it was cheaper to pay claims than fix design flaw. This was common practice by the big 3 in the 70's just Ford got caught with their pants down. But I still look in the mirror at stoplights just in case.

lol...... if it was about 15 feet shorter, it would look just like my mom's car 20 years ago!!! LOL.

Same wheelbase as hatchback. They just kept adding to the ass end til it looked like a clown car.

You right..... so I guess I might see you driving it through the next parade? just kidding...... My boys would say..... " Put some rims on it and I'll drive it"

Needs rims on it. Hell you can't even find 13" tires anymore but nothing crazy maybe some 15's off a mustang. No 20's for this country boy.

I think it is a good looking car.  Remember the time period.  It was stylish as well.
I liked the version that had the entire back glass as the Hatch lid..

But I do have two questions.....
1. Is the wagons tank in the same place??
2. Have you considered a fuel cell??

Oops....  and another question.....  can you put a cover over the 3rd member housing which would make the
tank less subject to puncture??

I had a friend in school that put a v6 in a hatchback, his was a 4cyl.  Turned out pretty good but I can't remember what the v6 came out of.  I think it was a Mustang II.   I know he changed the trans and rear axle also.  Sorry Jay, I didn't mean to disrespect you or your car.  Just joking.

Last 1 I had I put a 400m and c6 automatic with 8" rear out if a maverick. Gas tank is in a really safe place... Right in front of the rear bumper. Already had a big dent in it when I bought the car. I'm second owner and it has 35,000 miles on it and from the looks when I got it when the first set of brakes wore out they just parked it.

My wife wanted one in the seventys when they came out I bought her the wagon with the bigger motor 2200 cc I think 4speed that little bastard ran half decent . It was cheap and easy on gas but at that time gas was maybe 60-70 cents a gallon maybe less

This one has the 2300 and automatic been getting around 22 mpg. Was thinking about swapping out to efi engine out a ranger or mustang and add overdrive trans. No big block for this 1 gas don't grow on trees. My first 1 started as a 2300 with the 4 speed manual brakes and steering. It was a fun little ride with 15" wheels and 50 series tires on it.

White out the side windows with white vinyl to make it look like a panel. Put nice set of mustang wheels on it. Maybe lay down some carbon fiber on the hood. Letter it up nicely and use it as your sign wagon. Maybe surf board on the roof rack. You would definitely get looks. Great advertisement for you biz.

White vinyl is on it now with company lettering. That pic is from last fall and the vinyl helps keep the interior cooler in the summer. Everything I drive is lettered up, hate to miss the opportunity to advertise. I get stopped on the side of the road occasionally and calls when they ride by and read my number. Crazy not to promote yourself every chance you get.

Back in the day I had a V8 Vega panel two seater. Fun Fun Fun. Went through rear ends about every 6 months. Finally scored and V8 monza rear end for it. Problem was solved for a while until a few years of abuse it finally ripped the rear control arms right out of the body beyond repair. LOL Went to the bone yard. R.I.P.

Good cheap fun and attention getters. All the mini wagons were cool but then again I like wagons. Even had an Escort wagon yellow w/ red lightning bolts down the side on chrome 16's. Why be normal it's so boring.

The pinto is cool - now we are going to have to talk about the escort wagon . . . . unless it was a rolling billboard

It is amusing to notice these vehicles disappear from the highways. Somethings you just don't see anymore that aren't all that old. Or... maybe they are! lol

There are sooooo many cool cars...  Old models that draw attention.

The neat part of it all....  Is that you can buy them for less than a 10 year old foreign car.

A very nice 66 to 75 model Chevy or Ford Wagon can be had in very nice shape
for less than $10,000

AND...  your local garage can keep it running for a fraction of diagnosing a late model
computer car...... let alone the cost of repairing that self destructive vehicle.

My own 72 Ranchero was less than $5,000 to purchase.....  and it draws a helluva lot of attention.

We will NOT discuss its MPG....

Wanna talk about cars you don't see anymore I was at the junkyard last week and they had a gremlin come. Only thing missing was the grille.
