Blade not moving up and down is not touching vinyl. HELP!!!!!!
Go-C Graphics replied to Lisamckt's topic in LaserPoint Cutting Plotter Discussion
Do not try to use someone else's settings. Every cutter is going to have it's own unique settings. Even if they are the same model. Take the time to find your own settings and you'll be golden. -
Lets talk about On-line Stores.
Go-C Graphics replied to Go-C Graphics's topic in General discussion
Thanks for all the info. I'm honestly just looking for a simple shopping cart site. I've read a bunch of reviews and I've narrowed it down to Shopify or Big Commerce. The problem I'm having with open cart is it's just so raw. I'm sure someone with experience would have no problem with it. But I've spent weeks googling all the terms and trying to figure out if I need to use that option or feature. It really has a bad user interface. I want to focus my time on making the product and marketing it not trying to figure out how to put a banner at the top of the site. Unfortunately I don't have the money to pay someone to do it all for me. (Wouldn't that be nice.) That's why I'm looking at the 2 big options above. I'm mainly looking for something with a better user interface that I can learn in a week instead of several I've spent with open cart and I still don't have a working site. -
So after about a year of R&D I've finally come up with a product I can sell. I'm got a solid process that's repeatable and somewhat fast to make it. LED Light bases. The laser community is ALWAYS looking for a supplier for these because no one makes them. Mine are turn key ready. You just have to drop in your 1/4" acrylic. I'm ready to open an online store. Currently my neighbor has registered my domain name and has loaded Open cart for me. I've been working with it for about 3 weeks and it's really hard to work with. Photos don't like to load all the time. I currently can't delete other photos. Changing the layout is difficult. What is everyone else using? What Cart web service do you find easy to use. I don't want to spend alot every month but I'm willing to pay for something easy to use and works really well. Here's a picture of my custom handmade LED Light bases.

Quit thinking dude and look at the facts. You didn't make any money off this deal. You wasted your time. You're not a business................. You're a Charity. Not a bad thing if that's what you're going for. I'm sorry...... can you please point me to your references that state if you're self taught your time isn't worth as much. I don't believe I've read that book. Considering I'm self taught also I might need to read what you are. If you're producing high quality work it doesn't matter how you learned it. Read your quote above........ You're working for free.

Pricing Structure
Go-C Graphics replied to JLS Design's topic in Business Practices, Sales and Pricing, etc.
It takes time and experience to learn how it all works. The trick is YOU need to re-adjust your thinking. That is way I suggested some business classes. If your county doesn't offer any go to the next county and pay the $20-40 it cost for not being a resident of that county. Trust me it's worth it. The reason counties offer classes like this is because they want people like you building businesses and bringing in more money for the county. Don't give up and keep searching You have to ask yourself "Why are people coming to me for this?" The answer................ because they don't know how to do it or have the means to do it. That's powerful right there. For a long time I would think to myself why on earth anyone would pay $20 for a 4"x12" decal. It's so easy to make and only cost about $.75 in material. Because they can't and you can. When I'm out there getting paid $60 an hour to remove graphics it's because they don't want to and they will pay that much so they don't have to. Once you start doing this more you'll hear customers say "Man, I could never do that without messing up." That statement right there is why I get paid what I do. Because I've spent the time to learn; Graphics, vectors, cutting vinyl, taping up vinyl, proper ways to remove vinyl, installing vinyl, billing, accounting, expenses, profits, advertising, selling, dealing with cheap people, and LEARNING TO WALK AWAY. Knowledge is extremely valuable. It's taken many years to learn all this but it's paying off. None of this is natural thinking and has to be learned. Time to re-adjust your think. You see a $.75 decal on the table you just made. I see $20 that someone is willing to pay for something they can't make. -
I'm a 1 man band. I charge for what I do because my customers don't know how to do it or they don't want to. You need to sit down and re-adjust your thinking. Hell you and @JLS Design need start talking and with both of you researching I'm sure you guys can come up with a better business plan. You're working for free because you don't want to lose a customer. They aren't customers if they aren't paying. They are called master and you're a slave. If you're serious about doing this and making real money you need to turn off the cutter, shut down the graphics program, and google the hell out of "How to run a business." I'm no pro but I'm learning. I can make graphics and install them but you want to know the hardest thing about it all? Actually learning how to run a business. My sales are going up and my GOOD paying customers are coming back to me. It just takes time.

Pricing Structure
Go-C Graphics replied to JLS Design's topic in Business Practices, Sales and Pricing, etc.
Was this a serious post? I would seriously consider looking into some business classes. My county provides free classes to local residents. It's staffed with successful business people that want to give back to the community. $5-$10 for labor isn't even minimum wage. Shop around and find out what other shops charge. Don't discredit yourself. You're able to do what alot of people can't and that's worth a hell of a lot more money that what you plan on charging. Seriously though I'm not trying to be mean but your time is worth WAY more then that in this industry. -

Anyone in central Florida have blank banners?
Go-C Graphics replied to iceemudd2's topic in Other Materials

I had a paid subscription to vector magic for about a year. Once I got vinylmaster I found that it would trace vectors just as good as vector magic.

Why does this happen when in vectorizer?

How do you have a black background behind the black hang glider guy. How about you throw up the picture you're trying to vector. -
Pricing question
Go-C Graphics replied to Ravenwind / One Off Grafx's topic in Business Practices, Sales and Pricing, etc.
On 2nd thought............. Better just do it for the price he wants to pay. This seriously just happened about 5 minutes from my house. What the hell is wrong with the world. http://www.wftv.com/news/local/mt-dora-barber-killed-after-refusing-to-cut-mans-hair-for-2-witnesses-say/512718214 -
Pricing question
Go-C Graphics replied to Ravenwind / One Off Grafx's topic in Business Practices, Sales and Pricing, etc.
The main question is Why are you letting the customer tell you what your price should be? Your price seems fair. Add in a few hours for install and travel and you're golden. -
You forgot to mirror your picture. How am I suppose to read that. LOL

I currently have the full pro version I purchased a few years ago. I use it all the time to export .ai files to my laser. I'd like to upgrade to the Designer version so that I can do more work with raster images. If I purchase the designer upgrade does my Pro version stop working. Does the PSN become invalid? What I want to do is use the designer version on my desktop and use the pro version on my laptop out in the garage. I'm trying to prevent myself from having to run into the house to edit a file and export it on my desktop. Then I have to got back out into the garage to load it into the laser using my laptop. Basically the question is if I purchase the designer upgrade do I still have use of both versions (Designer and Pro).

Purchasing an Upgrade
Go-C Graphics replied to Go-C Graphics's topic in VinylMaster CUT, LTR, PRO & DSR
I've tried the deactivate and activate and it's really not a great workflow for me. I've also tried designing on the laptop but I still have to go into the house and export it from my desktop computer in my house. This doesn't work too well for me either. If I have Pro am I able to purchase an additional site licences for Designer? I apoligize for the questions, I'm just trying to figure out the most cost effective way of getting Designer on my desktop and Pro on my laptop. Thanks -
Application fluid, my first customer, an embarrasing experience, a total failure.

Lesson learned. Do not take customers until you know what you're doing. Nothing about this is easy as you have learned. All of us have had to practice a bunch to make it appear easy. You need to backup and reevaluate how much practice you've actually done.
