All you can do is test it... not all materials are created equal. Depends if the canvas is treated or plain, teflon etc... I would just try a piece...

We have been very fortunate in the Des Moines area... Central Iowa for the folks that aren't from around here. We has a very unusually WARM winter though so go figure were having a typical 100+ degree humid Iowa summer like I remember as a kid.

My recent experience with Cobra Ink
vinylmotivations replied to TomasB's topic in General discussion
I have had mine for over a year and a half now... run through probably hundreds of yards of 12" media and not only the original ink fill, but also about 8oz of each color, and 16oz black ink. Reset the waste ink pad twice, and just NOW finally needed a solid cleanout of the lines. While I was at it, I ordered larger tanks (up to the 100ml tanks from 50) and blew out the head with some of Richard's cleaner. Silly printer runs like a champ- better than anything I have ever owned before. I usually do a manual head cleaning cycle every other day or two, by holding the ink button for 5 seconds on my way out the door to work in the mornings.Wastes a little more ink, but gurantees the thing continues to flow. For those of you new to the printer, keep the ink flowing, the waste tank empty, and the ink tanks full and you will always have a happy printer pending no outside interferance. -
You would almost be wise to just reproduce that... could do it easily in SB, Corel, AI, or Inkscape...

I picked up some of the Creative Films Prime Cast stuff from USC and I like it. It is foil based however and I do not believe it will "wrap" as it is designed for only slight curves.

Just wanted to pick some folks' brains on this matter- I am designing a few banners to fit into some banner stands that I picked up when they were on sale through USCutter... See below link- http://www.uscutter.com/Roll-up-Retractable-Banner-Display-31-5-x-71-CKBROLLGRAA-80 Is the 31.5x71 the finished size of the banner that will fit it, and I need to undersize my graphic, or do I need to have a couple extra inches to attach to the leader strip?? Never used one of these before and ZERO directions come with them.

I have heard parchment paper works for layering adhesive backed vinyl- so I don't see why it wouldn't work to store transfers as well.

probably easy but.........help! im desperate!

Did you ever figure this one out??? If you know what the fonts are this would be an easy one to recreate. -
Good is a term that leaves a lot to interpretation... good for you and good for me may be two different things. I am an extreme perfectionist and will scrap a whole job and start over if it doesn't meet my own expectations. I started with a laserpoint 24 and it was "good" but I tossed a lot of jobs because i wasn't completely satisfied with them. Now my graphtec cutters- I have yet to toss a full job.

Alternatives to Expensive Graphtec Blade Holder?
vinylmotivations replied to OWJones's topic in GraphTec Cutting Plotter Discussion
Like I said, I have two of the ebay ones, before I bought them did some research on the forums here and a few members have them as well with no reported issues. They seem like they work just fine for me. I use one to keep a 60' blade in for finer stuff and another one setup for contour cutting. My other graphtec ones I use for general cutting. -
Alternatives to Expensive Graphtec Blade Holder?

I bought a couple on ebay for 50$ for the pair. Cnlisaliu I believe was the user. They worked just fine. -
It's not the mega pack but the "Largest" that has all 97 collections of his artwork.

copam cutting plotter starting problem
vinylmotivations replied to anil cs's topic in Copam Cutting Plotter Discussion
Maybe check the driver you are using in the software...? It is possible the driver selected is for the larger machine- so say, you have a 24" cuttter, it now THINKS it is a 48" and will ram into the side every time. -
done mine is http://www.facebook.com/vinylmotivations

Please don't take my post wrong, I was not meaning to sound like I was criticising or questioning- just rambling unlike some folks have been lately... Sounds good to me- like I said- know how that goes. I am a Muzak/Commercial A/V technician by trade and do a TON of home audio/video work for residential customers on the side (work turns down any residential work) so I don't step on any toes...

If you're working for a sign shop, don't you think you would be upset if you had someone working for you that up and decided to start doing work with the same products on the side biting into your own work? I would think the would not be too fond of you trying to grow a business while working for them. If they do not know about it, there could be legal reprecussions as well later on down the road. What you do is your own business, just a thought- also didn't seem like they were paying you much either.... not far off minimum wage here so can't say I blame you.

Copyright Professional Sports
vinylmotivations replied to tgbvinyl's topic in Business Practices, Sales and Pricing, etc.
Yeah copyright and trademarks are not to be tinkered and toyed with.... -
I would send that one off to Eric over @ vectordoctor.com - He'd whip that out quick for you... probably wouldn't cost a lot either. The amount of time you would save versus messing around with it, would be money well spent.

You guessed it, Mh 721 cutting problems..
vinylmotivations replied to ecto1's topic in USCutter Refine Cutting Plotter Discussion
I have a font, called Ravie, the bottom of the capital "H" - NEVER closes when using the font, so I have to manually go in and alter it regardless. Sometimes fonts are just junk or corrupt and can cause this and no matter how many times you rebuild it- the same will happen. That or static buildup are both viable options. Also which keyspan are you using? Not all of them are created equal. -

Wanna post the file you're using? Could be either a static issue or artwork. Try running the file with no blade holder, also try a pen tool on paper. -
You were too fast for me... Aachen Bold is a closer match.
