A simple sign I made for use around the shop. I put it on a 18x25 corplast (cheap!) and already used it today. SizeChart.EPS SizeChart.EPS

I downloaded and opened the file, it looks ok to me. I didn't try to cut it though. I did however go ahead and weld everything. You can try it and see if it makes a difference. breaking_silence_new.EPS

You did well. There are lots of people out there who work a lot harder for a lot less.

My neck off the woods $20 in material based on 24" 651 and med tack pre mask for $220 yes I would do that all day! 1/2 hour install if they are all there at 1 time(rare). Bonus he let you tag his limos, WOW!

I would have charged around the $225 for the vinyl plus an install fee.... So by my math and the way I do it he charged properly for the vinyl but didn't charge an install fee. To be more exact you have 14.555555.... square feet of vinyl.... at $12 a square it comes out at $174.67. Even if it is a simple design I would have charged at minimum $25. That puts it at just shy of $200 so..... The first time I just ran it in my head and threw a ballpark out there I knew I was close... I would say over all he did very well for having NO extra overhead but since I have a little more overhead than most and am in a market where most all the guys in my area either won't touch a job that small or can't handle a job that large I fall into the category of being able to charge a little more.... Without seeing how simple the design was or knowing how much time he had on the vectorizing I would say he charge good for the vinyl and his computer time but tossed in the install for free.... now when I first started out and was trying to get my name out there I probably would have done it all for the same $200 or so to get my name out there but now that I am established I can charge a little more and still beat my local competition..... I hope this doesn't sound rude or cocky.... I just thought I would explain myself better and its been a long day......

Thanks for those towman 208. I have and will pay it forward when I have something someone is in need of. I will be buying the whole 3 mega collection set soon and if anyone has a need for a couple to help them out, I'll send them or post a few to help whomever get the job done. I know we can't post them all for the world, and I respect that, thats why I usually buy clipart on CD. A good one that I like and was not expensive is the Bill Wood classic car clipart CD. A car guy like myself who hangs out with other car guys likes getting one or 2 cut as a gift. I posted a few of those cars on here in this thread before, and encouraged others to buy the full CD worth. Any of the signgold small sets are nice as well. I bought 2 of those. I do have the clipart DeSIGN Ultimate Ornaments Mega Pack, if you need anything from it post up and I will search the book and give you an assist just as you have done for me. I was gonna buy the 6 for the 24 bucks just rather buy the whole set and use that 24 bucks towards it. Thanks again for these 5, they will get me well on my way on this project. I will buy the whole set before needing them the next time, looks like a high quality set to get.

That was one click in Vector magic. Took about 45 seconds to do it.... I could probably clean it up and have all the colors even in less then 10 minutes..... I have run images through that were higher res. and had a perfect vector in a matter of a minute or 2.... I had an company come to me a while ago with a very intricate custom logo they wanted me to redo and put on a few trailers and a couple trucks they also wanted 150 shirts and 50 hats done so that job alone paid for the program and saved me a weekend of vectorizing in Inkscape.... In my case it was WELL worth it....

When using a software other then Graphtec software, you must have command set to HP-GL, look at the menu on your cutter and make sure it is set to HP-GL

The years fly by, and here we are, left with the delightful legacy created by Jerry Bonham. Since I began this journey into the realm of computer-cut lettering, I always have admired and appreciated his efforts to provide the cutting/sign-making community with an extremely useful application. Although this thread has been left dormant, I just discovered a "How To Do It" item that would be nice to offer here -- Fonts sometimes need to be messed-around with, to create effects that aren't straight-line! The easy way to perform this is type your word(s), select, and then go to the "ARRANGE" menu, choose "Convert to Curves" Now, you can play around with the font in various ways (Double Click on each letter, and the entire node path is available). In this example, I skewed the font, and then pulled a few of the corner nodes apart. (After altering the node points, just return to "Select" and the results will be applied) Have fun!

We have: US Cutter SC1261 Windows Vista SignCut When we started doing vinyl cuts, our cutter would stop midway through a run of decals. I came on here and was told I needed a Keyspan. Got a Keyspan, hooked it up, send the image through Signcut to the cutter, and it does nothing. I've installed the drivers, etc..but the bar just pops up and the time keeps increasing saying sending to cutter... Any ideas? Or help? Thanks, Jeremy

I've been reading a bunch about the MH series cutters yet i never came across what the numbers meant... is the higher number just the newer model? which # reflects the "refine" series? also if I buy one now what MH# is it? Are there differences between them?
