john! 1 Posted April 18, 2010 Did this banner today for a customer. Sizing is 2x5' on Roland 10 oz banner material that came with my 30" SP300i I have us banner printed material 13 oz coming in Tuesday. Used power tape for the edges and nickel grommets on the corners Am getting $6 PSF for banners + design time for anything other than simple text http://i40.tinypic.com/iozwxl.jpg[/img]

bayshorecreations 30 Posted April 18, 2010 Mind if I ask why power tape instead of banner tape and folding? Just curious if theres any difference.
BannerJohn 1,324 Posted April 18, 2010 Looks really good....but I could have done it exactly the same with vinyl...maybe I'm crazy but seems like printing takes all the fun out of it. I really enjoy doing banners in vinyl. But then again, I'm 55 years old and in bad shape. I see a printer in my future.
john! 1 Posted April 18, 2010 Thanks guys! The custom supplied all artwork and that's the logo they use on all products. I had the banner finished in about 30 minutes from printing to grommets so printing is defiantly the faster route IMO and besides, the logo had some gradients in it you can't do in cut vinyl. I used power tape since it is a one sided hem tape. Much faster and very strong as well.
James605 7 Posted April 18, 2010 PowerTape is expensive though. considering you can get hem tape for a 3rd of the cost. I did use powertape alot, alot of people want the folded over edge look around hereso i started folding or having them sewn now
