I bought some silver metal Zippo style lighters and tried to use them and was thoroughly dissatisfied with the way they turned out. On the left, a simple 2" Unisub hardboard tile with a white surface - on the right, a silver metal lighter with no white surface. The picture was taken with a cell phone camera in a low light situation, and the original artwork for the tile was also low resolution, so it looks extra-extra grainy in this pic, but you get an idea of how colors turn out on silver metal.

YUP. I usually tape down the lower layer diagonally across the corners or whatever makes the most sense. You can lift up the app tape later and remove any left over tape without a problem. That static cling is a PIA. Some vinyl is more prone to curl too, GS being one and 651 also can be a bit stiff and not lay down after the weed sometimes. Higher end vinyl will lay flatter but the static is still there to mess you up. On your cutter issue, I have always thought the LP2 a pretty good cutter for the budget end of things. I think you just have some issue that's causing you grief that can be sorted out. You wouldn't regret an upgrade though if you can swing it financially. If you are trying to do any kind of production at all the servo cutters with bigger memory are the ticket.

I saw that post. I tried that as well but had the same issue after pulling the paper out. Mainly the issue is after the registration marks are aligned and your just trying to drop it down. Thats when I have the most difficult time. I appreciate it. Ill start doing this for now one when layering.

no problems..... I am a newbie to this forum, but I do usually attempt to answer my own questions first by doing a little bit of research. I believe darcshadow is close to what my problem might have been. In any case, I received the info I needed. Thanks to all that was trying to help

Bella Donna..... I apologize for the typo, as I had the adult actress comment stuck in my mind.

I use my epsons every few days at the most. They will occasionally clog but usually a head cleaning cycle or 2 clears it right up.
