alright i will try that, but seems there must be a way in flexi.

I am interested in knowing how to do this in Flexi as well.  Does anyone have any insight?  I've tried removing nodes but it just made a mess of things.

nope, that won't work. :lol:

But, this seems to work.

Make a contour cut, 0 offset.  Separate the contour cut and deleteor move the original design.  Uncompound the contour cut.  Delete the unwanted cuts.  Should leave you with what I think you are looking for.

Contour cut= Effects menu, contour cut

Separate contour= Effects menu, separate contour cut

Uncompound= Arrange menu, compound, uncompound

Here is another way to do this in Flexi

Make a solid block bigger than the graphic and place on top.

Select all...than goto effects..combine..seperate overlap.

now select and delete the pieces you dont need.

Select the rest  and goto effects.. combine.. weld

Open image you wish to correct

Select image

Check the wireframe box - Fill Stroke/Editor

Use the cleaver tool (Click and hold drag across any one line, release)  - Slide out menu under Select Point Tool

Use the Select Within Tool (Select what you want removed, delete) - Right Click Menu

That works on this image, not sure about others....and Im sure there is a better way.
