iceemudd2 1 Posted March 17, 2016 I feel like I'm missing something super simple. I have my cutter set up, but when I try to do a "test" it does...nothing. The screen briefly flashes something about doing a test cut but nothing actually happens. Also, I have installed the driver on my computer but I can't get it to respond to any commands from signblazer or vinylmaster. Neither can detect the cutter. I feel like it's probably something super simple, but I cannot for the life of me figure it out. Any ideas? also, I am using the USB that came with the cutter, no serial ports on my laptop and nowhere locally to pick up the Tripple thing that's posted about on here. I really need to get it up asap
Molan_Labe 38 Posted March 17, 2016 open one of your cutter programs when you try to make a cut see what com port it is connected to. Then on your computer click start and go to your control panel, then devices and printers. open that and look for the one for your cutter, right click on it and go to properties. make sure the com port is the same there. iceemudd2 1 Posted March 17, 2016 On sign blazer it's the same but in vinyl master, I can't get it to detect the cutter.
Molan_Labe 38 Posted March 17, 2016 did it do a test cut in signblazer
iceemudd2 1 Posted March 17, 2016 No. It won't respond at all. Even when selecting test on the cutter itself, it's yet to drop the blade and actually cut.
Molan_Labe 38 Posted March 17, 2016 does your com port show the same in your program as it does in your devices and printers? look for the usb serial one right click on it and when the little box opens click the hardware tab and make sure you click the same com port in there as in your cutter program. Molan_Labe 38 Posted March 17, 2016 in sign blazer when you click to cut the vinyl you will see setting at the top click that. when the settings box opens up look at the second one down "out put device" make sure the com port there is the same as the USB/Serial port in your computers device and printers. iceemudd2 1 Posted March 17, 2016 They're the same. Still no response. The hardware tab says this device is working properly but I have to disagree
Molan_Labe 38 Posted March 17, 2016 on your cutter it self click select to the test one, then click enter see what happens
iceemudd2 1 Posted March 17, 2016 It flashes for maybe half a second that "now is cutting" but the carriage doesn't even move. Nothing happens.
Molan_Labe 38 Posted March 17, 2016 what kind of cutter you have?
Molan_Labe 38 Posted March 17, 2016 did you try to restart your computer, and turn off the power on your cutter then turn it back on after your computer fully rebooted?
Molan_Labe 38 Posted March 17, 2016 Here is a manual for the SC series cutter . SC_Manual.pdf
iceemudd2 1 Posted March 17, 2016 Sc 25 inch. Yes. Restarted everything, unplugged it and still no go.
Molan_Labe 38 Posted March 17, 2016 Follow through the manual exactly, and if still a no go then I would call and talk to the support team at US Cutter
busterbay 326 Posted March 17, 2016 If you can't do a test cut from the unit, then most likely the unit is the issue. I would call support.
Dakotagrafx 7,298 Posted March 17, 2016 I would call support while they are still open - thinking maybe usb driver issue but could be cutter and they will diagnose over the phone and or remote your computer to figure it out quickly without all the frustrating guessing

slice&dice 2,464 Posted December 30, 2024 "Vevor" generally works properly with SignMaster software. Try utilizing a Virtual Com Port (stm32) in order to get it recognized.https://quadmeup.com/stm32-virtualcomport-driver-for-windows (This "Tracy" comes along with minimal information and into a thread from a decade ago, so let's assume this is just another newbie who pops in, then disappears)

slice&dice 2,464 Posted 13 hours ago Vevor is sold with a proprietary version of SignMaster, and from my experience with that model machine, it's not gonna work right with even SignBlazer or anything else. Over the years, I've had good success with the VCP (it's actually designed for Drones, but works fine to create a "port" for USB that allows cutter communication). It's one of the best workarounds I've come across.
