Cincinnati Blasting 0 Posted February 14, 2016 I am very new with the vinyl cutter. The only thing i know is that i can import the image and then click "Vectorize". The image i am trying to cut is very blurry. Is there an easy way to clean it up to make make it cut cleaner? Sorry for the dumb question but i am very new to this. Thanks. slice&dice 2,450 Posted February 14, 2016 Hi, The first thing you should do is improve the quality of the original the best you can, before trying to convert. That would be accomplished in an image-editing program (free GIMP, or Photoshop). Get it to be as contrasty and clean as you are able (including that watermark in the corner of the packet of gum). Then, go to the vectorize attempt. Even at that point, you'll probably have to go into the NODES and edit them. Or, if you want, pay for someone to do all of those steps. Time is money. That being said, perhaps someone here wants to take a crack at it. Good luck, Cinci. Nobody ever said this stuff was a piece of cake !

Sal316 166 Posted February 14, 2016 Could ask the person/company that watermarked it to provide you with a better copy...

slice&dice 2,450 Posted February 14, 2016 Remember that TEXT isn't going to vectorize well (in all cases as you contiune to do this type of work, text is always better to retype to match within a graphic). For instance, the words 'PEPSIN' and the reverse with 'PEPPERMINT' -- and maybe even the GUM. [CHEW THIS] you'll have to just hope for the best (unless someone can I.D. it)
VinylMaster 148 Posted February 16, 2016 The key to obtaining good to excellent results is working with artwork that contains at least 1000 pixels both across and down, that hasn't been resampled up from very poor quality artwork. If you use Bing or Google images make sure to search for Medium to Large samples of what you wish to trace.
