tinestroza 0 Posted November 29, 2015 I've been having issuers with my Laserpoint II stopping in the middle. I grounded the machine and purchased a key span adapter and a cable to make it connect to my computer like suggested, but I can't get SCAL to recognize it. When I try to cut it says cutting machine not found and has some troubleshooting tips (which I have tried). I have a Macbook Pro version 10.11.1. Any suggestions? Dawn's Design 403 Posted November 29, 2015 You will have to turn your keyspan on
tinestroza 0 Posted November 29, 2015 How do I do that? I installed the drivers and everything that came with it. The green light on it lights up when everything is plugged in.
Dawn's Design 403 Posted November 29, 2015 Did the software leave you a icon to click on on your screen?
tinestroza 0 Posted November 29, 2015 Key Span Serial Assistant is the only new icon I see on my launchpad. Open that?
Dawn's Design 403 Posted November 29, 2015 Open that and make sure your keyspan is on idle
tinestroza 0 Posted November 29, 2015 It says no devices found.
Dawn's Design 403 Posted November 29, 2015 Plug it into a different serial port and try again
tinestroza 0 Posted November 29, 2015 My computer doesn't have one I am using adapters. So my usb cable has the printer end on one side that connects to my keyspan adapter and then I bought a male and female cord that goes into my machine. My machine only has one of those ports. I have two USB ports and I tried both of them.
Dawn's Design 403 Posted November 29, 2015 That's the way I have mine too. When I first connected mine it did the same thing. All I did was swap USB ports and it fixed it. Also the first adapter i bought didn't work. I call the company and they sent me another one free of charge.
tinestroza 0 Posted November 29, 2015 Ok, thanks for your help. I truly appreciate it. I'll try purchasing another one and talking to the company. So frustrating!!

GraphxNMore 282 Posted November 30, 2015 Is it because you're using a MAC?
tinestroza 0 Posted November 30, 2015 I am using a mac. Does that make a difference? This was what was suggested to me in order to make the machine work with a mac... I wish I knew...
GraphxNMore 282 Posted November 30, 2015 It does say compatible. Have yo tried a different cable? How about a direct USB cable?
tinestroza 0 Posted November 30, 2015 I don't have any extra of the null modem cables or the adapter. I'm working on getting those. When I do it with a USB cable it recognizes the machine and everything, but it only cuts about 6 inches and then freezes every time.
