gcextreme 475 Posted May 19, 2015 Looking to get started in sublimation. Looking at getting an Epson 7110 i believe, from Cobra Inks. Need some suggestions. Also looking to get a decent mug press machine. US Cutters machine is $129, HeatPressNation has a $99 one.. Wheres the best application paper to get and use?? Any other supplies i may need to start? I wanna do mugs, hitch covers, dog tags, maybe phone cases and later plates.
jaybyrd 3,770 Posted May 19, 2015 Only mug presses I've had a problem with are where the mugs stand up. All of the ones I tried where the mug layer down worked.
gcextreme 475 Posted May 19, 2015 Yep the uscutter one the mug stands up, the heatpress nation one it lays down...may go with that one..
mr300s 1,272 Posted May 19, 2015 I see a lot of good used mug presses both on ebay and craigs list. Don't forget about them. In the meantime you could start with a cactus wrap to do limited amounts in a oven at home. Remember to mention my name to Richard at Cobra and he will take 10% off anything you buy other than the high temp ink ...

gcextreme 475 Posted May 19, 2015 DONT TELL ME THAT!! All this started with just wanting to do vinyl decals.... Vinyl Decals led to glass etching and HTV shirts, hoodies, can coozies, etc. Now Dye Sublimation....next its gonna be laser etching and then Hydro Dipping!!!
jaybyrd 3,770 Posted May 19, 2015 I'd recommend rehab but we all know that's for quitters.
gcextreme 475 Posted May 19, 2015 Lol true...im not a quitter. I think adding dye sublimation is a good move for my new store front...more services and products...the real issue, im going to be running out of room fast!
jaybyrd 3,770 Posted May 19, 2015 I had that problem with the first 2 store fronts. They looked HUGE when they were empty but boy do they fill up fast.
Macon Innovations 228 Posted May 19, 2015 HydroGraphics take up too much room......Laser Etching on the other hand
dirtrocker 60 Posted May 19, 2015 DONT TELL ME THAT!!All this started with just wanting to do vinyl decals.... Vinyl Decals led to glass etching and HTV shirts, hoodies, can coozies, etc. Now Dye Sublimation....next its gonna be laser etching and then Hydro Dipping!!! I didn't even know about sublimation. I came here checking out vinyl info and looking for info on Illustrator. Then someone posted about cups. Then I got curious about the cups. It was all downhill from there. Wait. What is hydro graphics?? Nevermind. I don't wanna know.

gcextreme 475 Posted May 20, 2015 Looking at the ImageRight stuff on Coastal, there are two types... TexPrint-R and TexPrintXP-HR so i am not sure which to get??? http://www.coastalbusiness.com/sublimation-paper.aspx
dirtrocker 60 Posted May 20, 2015 Looking at the ImageRight stuff on Coastal, there are two types... TexPrint-R and TexPrintXP-HR so i am not sure which to get??? http://www.coastalbusiness.com/sublimation-paper.aspx As far as I understand, the R is Ricoh printers. I've been using the Image Right for Epson and it's been working great. I've used it on T-shirts, key chain blanks and mouse pads and only had one issue, but it was my color profile that was the problem. Don't look. No Turning back then. Oh man, I looked. And it's dangerously affordable. The problem isn't so much the money on this one, as it is the space. I'd have to do some heavy rearranging. LOL!
jaybyrd 3,770 Posted May 20, 2015 Warned you not to look
Macon Innovations 228 Posted May 20, 2015 Lucky for me I have a close friend that does Hydro graphics and powder coating So I don't have to get into that.....lol
MadHatterGraphix 1,258 Posted May 20, 2015 I will say it again. once you look into sublimation and you started with your first dose there is no coming back only get further and deeper in debt with it.
gcextreme 475 Posted May 24, 2015 Well i ordered the printer from CobraInks on Tuesday, I have not got any proof of shipment or anything yet. Also just ordered a mug press, and some mug blanks, as well as the paper and heat tape and the adhesive spray. It's all adding up fast, lol
Macon Innovations 228 Posted May 24, 2015 That's not a good thing.....I was going to place an order with them for a printer tomorrow....
gcextreme 475 Posted May 24, 2015 i am sure they are just delayed, as many members on here highly recommend them....its just after 3 days and no emails back since my order confirmation email, thats what bugs me.

They don't send out as much notification stuff like most places but they are good about getting your order on the way.
