300 T-shirt order cancel

Recommended Posts

got screens, t-shirts and ink and the person wants to change the date on the back and we say ok. then she calls 1hr ago and said she wants to cancel the whole order but wants to us the money towards the next job that she has with us (2 jobs)

I told my partner to dont use his money and wait till she pays but she paid with a check that cleared today.

so she said I will take the blank shirts and screens.

this just pisses you off to the fullest.

Refund her. Return shirts but don't cave to her or you'll be getting walked on every time the mood strikes her.

Or plan b you do have a signed contract? Print them and she can either pay for them or lose her deposit and the shirts. I have done this twice and both times they paid the balance and one of them has been back since then. The other well let's just say good riddance.

Something just doesn't feel right about the whole deal. Either she's hustling you or she really is trying to keep you from eating the job. Up to you to figure that out.

It's your call as to whether this customer is worth keeping.

BUT you do have costs already involved so...

Charge her for your time & screen creation.

Plus shipping & a restocking fee (10-15%) for the shirts & ink...

if you can return them.  If she wants the  blank shirts....

sell them to her at a reasonable mark-up. (If she wanted to

buy them locally she would be paying around $2.50-$3 each.)

And the screens are your property...explain to her she pays

for screen creation...not the actual frames.

Those are re-used.

Glad it turned out alright for you.  Sounds like she was trying to be fair.

Hopefully the shirts aren't some weird shade of Goober Green that

no one else will want!
