Stumpy83 0 Posted June 10, 2014 Hi how are you guys? I'm shaun from the uk, and I'm new to this world, I'm hoping to seek advice on a vinyl cutter I've bought and now struggling to get it to cut anything It's a foison c 24 Using art cut
slice&dice 2,450 Posted June 11, 2014 Whazzup, Stumpy?!! Download & install the old standby -- SignBlazerElements, and you'll find that machine listed within the cutter setup. If you still can't get it to function, let us know how you have it hooked up, what's your operating system, and any other details which might assist in troubleshooting. Cheerio.

slice&dice 2,450 Posted June 12, 2014 Still no joy :/ Why not? What steps did you accomplish and what steps did you omit?
Stumpy83 0 Posted June 12, 2014 Have no Idea why not tbh, I've downloaded sign blazer from the link, It come up with us cutter as the device couldn't find foison c 24 When I check the system device it shows on com 7 as uscutter
slice&dice 2,450 Posted June 12, 2014 OK, let's take this one point at a time. Did you get the UK version from the mystat.com server ? (you have to unzip the archive, and there are two different installers, one of which is UK) Next, you should be using COM4 or less. Click on the system device port properties and change it. Windows Vista is not really the ideal operating system --- XP would be my choice to run a cutter.
Stumpy83 0 Posted June 13, 2014 Yeah got the uk version I've got a PC with 7 on?? Or shall I just install xp on it??

slice&dice 2,450 Posted June 17, 2014 Glad to continue assisting you, Shaun. A few things to consider -- 1. Uncheck the "weed all" box. 2. In your example, be aware that the "Rotate across vinyl" feature would save you from wasting vinyl. 3. The computer is now feeding data, but there's nothing receiving it. This is a com port issue. We know nothing about how your computer and cutter are connected. The Cutter Setup screen will provide details about that.
Stumpy83 0 Posted June 17, 2014 Ok thanks, The computer is connected via usb cable and it's currently on com
slice&dice 2,450 Posted June 17, 2014 Shot in the dark, but worth installing the FTDI driver for USB -------- http://www.uscuttersupport.com/downloads/Drivers/cdm20828_setup_windows.exe or http://www.ftdichip.com/Drivers/CDM/CDM20828_Setup.exe (I think it's the same driver, but appears to be named slightly differently)
slice&dice 2,450 Posted June 19, 2014 Have you ever seen this cutter operational? When you bought it, did the seller demonstrate that it would actually work? At some point, you may have to consider a major failure in the motherboard of the unit itself, and what you have there is an expensive paperweight.
