busterbay 326 Posted February 26, 2014 I see Dr. Seuss quotes for sale all the time are they copyrighted ?
OWJones 1,981 Posted February 26, 2014 Copyright is for the life of the author +70 years. Dr. Seuss died in 1991, so all of his works, even quotes, are copyrighted through 2061 - at least. You can contact Seussville if want to license any of their properties - http://www.seussville.com/faq/contact_us.php

However, I was wondering how the law applies to quotes. Mainly Dr Seuss as I see these for sale everywhere. I have no intention of making them, just curiosity. The scam you’re in is a paddle-less boat. The conundrum is not the paddle-less boat But rather the choice to “cut” the Seuss quote. Sam I’m not But Louis I am Good luck with your vinyl scam
MadHatterGraphix 1,258 Posted February 28, 2014 Well, I will tell you how hard, and how much when I get a reply to make official Dr. Seuss items.
PointOfExpression 53 Posted February 28, 2014 I had done a quote by them when I first started up my business and had been contacted by them directly. I have tried to be able to be permitted to do them but without any luck!
busterbay 326 Posted February 28, 2014 I had done a quote by them when I first started up my business and had been contacted by them directly. I have tried to be able to be permitted to do them but without any luck! Makes you wonder how & why all those people get away with it. If you look at any of the big "E" sites fake are everywhere, I just don't think it would be worth the risk. Heck it's hard enough not to step on a toe when you design your own.
PointOfExpression 53 Posted February 28, 2014 Yes, I wondered that myself. I emailed them informing them of most of those people and she said they would look into it.. Not sure why they are all still there but yeah, definitely not worth the risk for me.
