theishkid 13 Posted February 1, 2013 I want to put my new plotter on wheels. Graphtec won't sell me wheels from the 120 model so I'm on my own. I took one of the threaded feet off mine to find the size and it fit perfectly in the M8x1.25 hole at Lowes. Just one problem... it's really hard to find metric casters. I found some online that look pretty nice, will roll well on carpet, and I can add brakes to a couple of them (for when I finally get off my carpet). http://www.needcasters.com/eshop/10Expand.asp?ProductCode=TWUN-60N-GS The question... is there any reason I shouldn't do this? And is there something else I should be looking at instead?
Dakotagrafx 7,297 Posted February 1, 2013 I love the idea - I have a stand from a fc-8000 that I am thinking of using for my laminator - this would work great
MZ SKEETER 4,709 Posted February 1, 2013 somebody take the wheels off the FC8000 stand? Pictures show with wheels. That was not cool... FC7000 stand came with caster wheels and brakes.
theishkid 13 Posted February 1, 2013 Well I ended up ordering from greatlakescaster.com. Less than $15 dollars shipped to Oklahoma, two wheels plain, two with brakes. If anyone else is interested you have to call because that model with metric is not on their website, it is model: TWUN-60N-M23-GS I spoke with Travis Popma, His direct line is: 616-528-7050

OWJones 1,981 Posted February 2, 2013 Thanks for doing the hard work for us! Gotta make a note to call first thing Monday morning and order some casters!
theishkid 13 Posted February 7, 2013 Well I guess they finally put my order in today (Wednesday) and sent me a receipt and charged my card. I was hoping to have them this week but I don't know if that's going to happen now since they waited so long to place the order... I'm very impatient if you can't tell. I'll post some pics when they get here!
theishkid 13 Posted February 15, 2013 So I would hold off a while for anyone thinking about ordering these. I just received them today (two weeks after ordering). They put the wrong stem in and won't fit. I ordered M8 x 1.25 and they sent 3/8-16. I sent email messages but still have no response, I also called but could not get ahold of anyone, though I might have called too late. I'll let you know if it ever gets straightened out. 34Ford 7 Posted February 15, 2013 I bought a set of these on Amazon at $4.29 each and they work great. http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B0029WNS1K/ref=oh_details_o02_s00_i00?ie=UTF8&psc=
theishkid 13 Posted February 15, 2013 Dennis, 3/8 is what they sent me for my 6000 by mistake but it was much too large for the holes. They finally got back to me this morning and are sending a new set of casters.
theishkid 13 Posted February 25, 2013 Alright, I finally have some rims for this thing! They look great and give me at least an extra inch and a half in height!
