Benr98 40 Posted February 7, 2008 I have a couple different brands of vinyl........if I were to cut the same design on both...one may cut perfect, while the other is almost peeling during the cut..........so my question is, do I need to make some sort of adjustment or does some vinyls do better with more detailed graphics than others?? I'm confused!! :bang: Jenny
Jerry Bonham 1 Posted February 7, 2008 Hello Jenny, This is how i instruct out customers. Have a notebook, bit of paper on the wall or just somewhere to put notes Make a list Here is an example Brand of Vinyl ---- Blade used ----- Cutting Pressure Oracal Red 0.25 new 2/5/08 60 grams Now make a sheet for each color. Before using any new roll do test cuts. Sometimes it is better to actually cut some letters rather than used the inbuilt test cut. Always start at the lowest pressure and increase. You must be able to weed the letters cleanly in one go. Once you have the correct pressure for the roll of vinyl put it on the sheet. You will find as time goes by that the pressure needed will increase. This way you also know to change blades (general rule is if pressure has to increased by more than 50% change the blade.) So different brands of vinyl REQUIRE different pressure. Another tip Only have the barest amount of blade out of the holder. Actually (on scrap vinyl) decrease the pressure until the blade does not cut and then increase the length until it just cuts perfectly. Then you have the correct length of blade. Happy Cutting Jerry from SignBlazer.
