    CS2 or CS3

About CS2 and CS3. First of all here is an excellent unbiased review of CS3 and answers your question. http://www.creativepro.com/story/review/25403.html I love this website, one of my favorites. Here is what we have found out when writing our Plugin for Illustrator for the Mac. "Under the bonnet" of CS3. It is totally different to CS2. Reason? It has been rewritten for Intel CPUs. I mean that there is not one single thing that is the same. So Adobe appear to have honored their promise to totally rewrite Illustrator. This rewrite was just a tad early and has caused programmers who write plugins for Illustrator grief world wide. I will not go into deep technical stuff however on the Mac there is a conflict between versions of compilers and versions of the OS creating unnecessary complexity for programmers. Here it is in PC language./ Image you had to write & compile on Windows 95 to run the program on Windows Vista. No doubt Adobe will get around to fixing this up next year. Adobe are really good like that. Jerry from SignBlazer.

Filling inside the Polyline drawing with color

Hello Tew, You said that it was a large Z shape? Does this mean it is a single line? If so it is just that, an open shape? So i guess that you want to thicken it? A great feature of inline/outline/expand and why it is called expand is that is exactly what this tool is for. Here is how 1. Select the polyline Z 2. Click E on the keyboard (if you learn a few simple keyboard shortcuts you can use SBE about 20 times faster) 3. When the menu is displayed un-tick everything. Make sure that there ZERO in the offset Make sure OUTLINE is selected. Then enter a figure of the thickness you need into "Thickness" 4. Click OK 5. If unhappy with the result press "Control + Z" To undo. 6. Select the Z again and press E and enter a new thickness. It sounds a lot to do but actually takes a couple of seconds. Have fun Jerry from SignBlazer.
  3. Hello Thank you for posting this question. When you receive your copy of SignBlazer Elements with a cutter or purchase a copy you actually receive one single license to use a single copy at any one time. In other words you only have permission for one single copy on one computer. Now let us look at different scenarios. 1. I bought a new computer so how do I move my copy of SignBlazer Elements without buying a new copy? Answer. [/b] You simply uninstall from you old computer while connected to the net. (this notifies our database) Then install SignBlazer Elements on your new computer. Use you same Software Serial Number to re-register. You also must use the same email address you used with the first registration. 2. My HDD crashed and i had to buy another and reinstall everything, what do i do to register again, without having to buy another copy? Answer Simply install SignBlazer Elements on your new HDD Use you same Software Serial Number to re-register. You also must use the same email address you used with the first registration. 3. I need to load my SignBlazer Elements onto another computer while mine is being repaired. Answer. Simply install it and use it in trial mode until your computer is repaired. There are no restrictions except for the nag messages. These will not stop you doing your work. 4. I need another copy to design my work. Answer. In this case you need to buy another copy. The best place to buy another copy is from where you obtained your first copy. The reseller will be more than pleased to sell you another copy. 5. I had to reinstall my copy because ******************** (reason) and now it says that my Software Serial Number is already in use, what do i do? Answer. You send an email with your Software Serial Number and the date of purchase to regist@blazertech.net NOTE -- it must be sent from the original email address you used. 6. I installed SignBlazer on the wrong computer and need it on another now. Answer You simply uninstall from you old computer while connected to the net. Then install SignBlazer Elements on your new computer. Use you same Software Serial Number to re-register. You also must use the same email address you used with the first registration. Some additional Notes. a. If you have a problem of any kind with registration simply email (always using the same email address) your Software Serial Number and date of purchase to regist@blazertech.net explaining what the problem is about. Copy and paste any error message into the email is a help. b. Why do i have to use the same email address? Simple, this proves to us that you are who you say you are. c. What if i have to change my email address? -- Again email us at regist@blazertech.net With both your new (obviously in the email) and your old email address. Also your Software Serial Number and date of purchase. We are people just like you here and we understand that sometimes things go wrong. We are here to help you and we pride ourselves on helping our SignBlazer users. Hope this clears up your question. Jerry from SignBlazer.
  4. Hello Adam, I understand how you feel. If we know a program well then it takes a lot of effort to learn another. I just downloaded the latest demo of SignWizard out of curiosity. Have not looked at it for years. I could not even find a driver for any Chinese cutters nor could i find any way to set the offset. There were none of the cutter functions there that are normal in SignBlazer and in FlexiSign. If you have to buy another cutter just to use SignWizard then it will have to be one of the VERY expensive Graphtec, Datagraph, Graphtec etc cutters. It appears these are the only ones supported. And for a 48 inch cutter another $5,000.00 or even more. However what i am suggesting is that you just use SignBlazer for cutting. This is why i have given you the instructions on how to export to SignBlazer. Good Luck and if you do use SignBlazer then you know you do have great support waiting for you. Jerry from SignBlazer.
  5. Hello Adam, I am sorry but i do not think that you will ever get SignWizard 5.1 to cut correctly with your LaserPoint 48. Several reasons. No cutter offset. (or does this version have it?) And i don't think this version can support USB Com ports correctly. (complaint here in Australia about the exact same thing) No driver for the LaserPoint 48. This is not really the same as a PCut CT630 although made by the same company. Why don't you install the copy of SignBlazer you received with the cutter? If you are used to SignWizard then here is how to move files to SignBlazer. 1. Select your work. 2. Edit>Vector Mode> To Bezier 3. Export as an EPS file. This will import perfectly into SignBlazer. If you need more help just ask. Jerry from SignBlazer.

    Anyone use this????

Interesting. Should be a great tool. Don't see how they could patent it? I collect old vinyl cutters and things associated with them. I have a vinyl slicer/sprocketing machine. This slits vinyl to 382mm (15") and punches holes along each side. This is for the old Gerber vinyl cutters that used to sell for about US$30K each new. It uses the exact same principle for slicing to the correct size. So does every other machine i have seen for slicing vinyl. Interesting? Jerry from SignBlazer.

I need help in sign blazer

Hello, It took me a few times reading your post to understand exactly what you were asking. I think that i have it now. I opened the EPS file in SignBlazer and it is only 19.93 inches x 9.68 inches in size. You want to cut it at 34"x66"? When i scale it up it is 66" x 32". You have two options to make 34" x 66" 1. Resize it using non- proportional. 2. Move the elements or parts of the sign around to make it 34" high. Also can i suggest that you use a substitute font to the vectorised letters? Trust this helps Jerry from SignBlazer.
  8. Hello, Just to clarify things about moving SignBlazer Elements to another computer. Yes, you uninstall from one computer while connected to the net. This notifies our database that it has been uninstalled and allows one more installation. Simple and easy. However PLEASE NOTE, you must use the SAME EMAIL ADDRESS. If you try to use another email address then the database most likely will reject any attempt to re-register. Some make it hard for all by trying to cheat the system. And install and register on as many as 14 computers with 14 different email addresses and then write to us and say it is all the same person and the same computer why isn't being registered. 14 is the record. Not US Cutter's customers however i am pleased to say. So if you do have a problem which is legit then email us at regist@blazertech.net Always include the following otherwise you will just get an email asking for the information. 1. Your Software Serial Number. 2. Date of Purchase. If for any reason you do change your email address then make sure that you tell us the old one when you write for help with registration. Trust this helps. Jerry from SignBlazer.

Can I trade? I have Signblazer, and Need Signcut for the mac.

Hello, If you send your email address by PM and i will send you a 30 day trial version. The pre-release version only works with Illustrator CS2 for Mac OSX. The release version is close and will work with CS3 for Mac OSX. There will be a later release that will enable you to use the Laserpoint Cutter with the SignBlazer plugin and Illustrator. Trust that this helps. Jerry from SignBlazer.

    Font issue

Hi Mike, I have figured out that this font has faulty parameters inside it. In other words it does not comply with MS standards for TTF fonts. I am away for the next 2 weeks in China so will not be able to do much until i come back. Then i will repair the font for you so that it can be used in SignBlazer. And i will post the repaired font here for all to use. Jerry from SignBlazer.

    how do you remove buttons?

Yes, We could not reproduce this problem. However our very clever smart programmers figured it out. Give them a shout of thanks. Users only see the program on the screen so it hard to imagine that there is a dedicated team here slaving away to keep SignBlazer always voted by users "the best sign software in the whole world". So thanks to the few that had this annoying problem. Download the latest version of SignBlazer to cure this problem if you have had it. Jerry from SignBlazer.,

    Ok dumb question

In the scrapbooking industry there are scratch engravers that can be fitted to a vinyl cutter However i have not been able to track down the manufacturer. There are a few resellers who sell these. In effect they just scratch the surface. here is a link to the most popular site. http://www.pazzles.com/accessories.php If anyone knows who make these please tell us. I am sure that US Cutter would love to sell these accessories. Jerry from SignBlazer.
