masking tape strip on my us cutter?

i have a MH721 uscutter and it has a white strip of masking tape on the cutter. were the blade points down to. it goes accross the cutter its peeling from one end and under the tape it has a plastic strip and some fuzzy stuff next to the plastic. what in the world is this for .do i peel the tape off ? is this there for a reason? please advise. thanks ;D

  just remove it,  It holds it down in place during transport,  make sure your cutting strip is down all the way across,

lol, this was my first question as soon as i unpacked mine as well.

i was told to remove the masking tape, which i did  ;D

there is a cutter strip under the masking tape that you dont remove, so dont get too carried away ripping things off !!

that fuzzy strip is for when you are cutting through things like card stock..so your blade will last longer.

lol I didn't even have enough since to ask... I just pulled it off and have wondered up till now if I should have  :thumbsup:

I think thats the question everyone has. I'm surprised cutting companies don't put something on the cutter saying. 1. remove strip. 2. make sure head is in track. This would save a lot of questions.
