How to make the plotter "fill" a drawing.

Recommended Posts

Hi, i have been messing a bit with the pen adapter of my ploter and i think its great, .

so far i ahve seen this video

and i thik its great what he does, i dont mean the coroplast thing, but the way the ploter is handling the drawing.

i have tried iit and a regular sharpie works great with the plotter, it draws perfectly well , but the problem is that when i send a drawing to "CUT/ploT" the cutter will only draw the outline, does anyone know how to make the plotter fill the design??.

I hope someone knows cause this intersts me a lot.

Thank you

I don't know what software you're using but with Flexi there's a "fill plot" you need to checkmark.

Hi,

I know that this might seem like a daft question to ask.

But if you are using a felt tip pen, won't the tip become flat a squared off after a few signs.

It more than likely would have more wear and tear on the markers but their cheap to replace :)

you need to drop the force as low as possible and slow the speed down so the ink can keep up and the markers last pretty good.  Sorry though, no easy way to do it in SB you have to either put in a bunch of poly lines close together or keep inlining over and over close together

It is interesting but I think by the time you buy decent markers that would hold up tp coloring in a full sign it may be cheaper to use vinyl. It would be a few cents per foot as opposed to a marker that costs 1.50

Sharpies are solvent ink, last very well on coroplast. You'd have less than $2 in a sign, even if you had to use a new marker every sign.  its a great niche for yard sales, garage sales, stuff that is one time, short term that the customer doesn't want to spend 15-20 bucks on a cut vinyl sign

VinylMaster is the software which USCUTTER supplies with their machines, and it offers "fill" option.

Do you ever use them to 'fill in' an area, if so what software?

Thanks

No... haven't had a need to fill.

Just line drawings on Butcher paper or Poster board

that I cut by hand for MDO cut-out templates or spray paint masks.

I believe VinylMaster Pro will do the fill you want from within the "Engraver" Module.
