In NC there are Grimco branches in Raleigh and Greensboro. There are other regional sign supply dealers as well just depends on what area you are in.

Oh wow that is the first video I have watched of a cutter with stepper motors. Definitely the loudest part of my CE6000 is the fan, lol.

Loading Media CE6000-60
jarrotto replied to wickedstangs's topic in GraphTec Cutting Plotter Discussion
I dont understand exactly what your asking but if its how to turn off the sensors then this is where that information can be found. Turning off the media sensor is listed on page 10-4 of the CE 6000 manual. Turning off the push roller sensors is listed on page 10-5 of the CE 6000 manual. -
Substrate options to replace frameless 3/4" Plywood
jarrotto replied to express2100's topic in Other Materials
My supplier calls is AlumaCorr from NUDO. If you dont have any local sign supply shops you can look for a Grimco or N Glantz branch in your area. -
I wouldn't call the Mutoh printer an off brand... If it was me and I knew I didn't want bigger I would pair the Mutoh vj628 and a Graphtec CE6000. Or you can spend a good bit more and step up to a roland print and cut. The bigger you can afford the more options it will allow you I suppose. http://www.coastalbusiness.com/Mutoh-ValueJet-628-Eco-Solvent-Printer.aspx

If you already have a 24" cutter i would skip it and get the Mutoh vj628 24" eco sol. I got print samples and they look great. A lot of other forum members will tell you to buy bigger, or buy used to get a bigger machine. I think a 24" would be a better investment and it gives you more options for print media. The bn20 is semi limited because of the 18" media requirement.

This is what i use for decals and t-shirts. http://stores.ebay.com/VALUEMAILERS/CLEAR-OPP-POLY-BAGS-/_i.html?_fsub=663869119&_sid=26847069&_trksid=p4634.c0.m322 -
Can you open it in your graphics program? I open PDF's in Illustrator to pull the vector file.

Don't forget the Mutoh VJ628 24" Eco Sol for 7k. You would still need to upgrade to a 24" cuter as well for contour cuts, as well as another grand for the cheapest electric laminator.

There is a Signicade at a local insurance office local where they applied the letters straight to the plastic, but no base coat of vinyl. Some of the letters and especially the smaller inside pieces of letters are starting to pop off one by one. I have no idea if the followed the torch directions... I thought the flame treatment was interesting when i read the prep directions for Signicade frames, i haven't done one yet though. Let us know how it goes!

Tips on bulk ordering color die-cut decals?
jarrotto replied to Joe Link's topic in General discussion
Your not going to get 1,000 - 2,500 decals at $600. Maybe you should save a little more, buy your own plotter and cut them as you need them until you can justify having a die made. You could always look into getting them printed, but you still are not going to get anywhere near those numbers of decals with what most charge. -
I usually use Rapid Tac on hot days outside, but on extra humid or cold days i have used Rapid Tac 2 with good results.

The Adobe Classroom in a Book for your Illustrator version on Amazon can be very helpful. I highly recommend them. Plus they are cheap usually between $36 - $56.

Npace is saying spray the back of the decal with application fluid, not with alcohol. What % isopropyl alcohol are you using. I use 70% alcohol, where I'm at it is pretty dang humid, the alcohol evaporates fast.

I have one like that, but it was about half as much distance. If you try not to set it down on that side i bet it would be fine. For what its worth i really like both the AT 65 clear and the 4076 RLA paper tapes. In fact i did a wet application with AT65 on a flat surface the other day and it came out awesome!

Has anyone applied for a trademark?
jarrotto replied to JessXEmoji's topic in Business Practices, Sales and Pricing, etc.
What is the point in applying for a Trademark to protect your work when you don't seem to respect others trademarked status? -
My money is still on that was some type of software conflict - Being that i had the exact same problem, but after changing hard drives in my mac, reinstalling adobe software and new cutting master plugin the problem was resolved. I have not had the need to test Graphtec's support, and i hope that i don't have to.
