WG is right. Save yourself some time & effort! After you trace or hand draw you can SAVE AS or EXPORT as a Corel file, JPG, AI, SVG, EPS, TIF, etc......... You you will have a choice of many file types in the drop down box below the File Name Box. Sue2

For those of you that do embroidery, I have a customer looking for stick on company logo patches... A previous company she worked for had them so employees could wear their own clothing but still have the company logo up front. Anyone know of this type logo patch. It's not iron-on. It just sticks to the fabric and is removed afterwards. She says they lasted about 4-5 uses then the sticky was no longer tacky enough. If they are throw-away after a few uses, the cost has to be reasonable. I was thinking that an embroidered logo patch with a magnet back would hold up better/longer. Any ideas are welcome. Well, they're not using the same orange..and black is black... you can't copyright standard color combinations..... and the actual shield is a different shape. The letter shaping in the shield is the same, the font is different. The center text is definitely different...... I would say a close call if you just look at the artwork. BUT the intent is surely there. Just my take on it. Sue2

Time is not so much a problem with the iron method but the actual temperature AND the pressure is critical. It would be near impossible to affix anything larger than the sole-plate itself with just an iron. You can't lay the HTV down and swipe your iron over it like regular ironing...that won't work. Watch a few you-tube videos to get an idea of what is involved....AND keep your designs small. Done right the HTV will outlast the shirt....but probably not when using an iron to apply. Sue2

I am in a bit different business from most of you.....printing. I have a sideline making signs, t-shirts, banners etc.. None the less, doing regular orders ( printing or signs ) at a drop dead turn-around time only teaches your customers to delay to the last minute.......... So, if you have a good customer who really does have an emergency and you have already promised Mr."Need-It"Now"...what do you do? Give yourself some wriggle room when promising those "normal" orders. PLUS, as stated above, quick = cheap in the minds of your customer. If it doesn't take much time to do this, ...it can't cost that much! Half of business is knowing when to bend and do it at top speed and when to work it into your everyday schedule. Case in point. we printed 20,000 flyers over night for a good customer Monday, They didn't pick up till Wednesday morning.................so, they really didn't need it THAT badly...will we do it that quickly next time????????????????????? Convert all text to curves & export/save as eps. eps files should work in most cutting programs. Sue2

I like VM Cut...it works/feels similar to Corel. BUT, I create in Corel and import the eps file into VM for cutting. Previously I used SignBlazer for cutting and still have it on one computer. Sue2

Heat Press is fun...but there are a lot of steps in the process that are time consuming. First, you have to create a design, colors & lettering Second, you have to create the vector file of that design Third, MIRROR it....for cutting - it's too easy to forget this step! Fourth, Cut the HTV Fifth, Weed the HTV Sixth, NOW you can press your custom designs for family, friends...and maybe even PROFIT! Sue2
