    Need Help Making this decent

The shadowing on the tire is where you are going to run into problems.... it will be a pain to layer with all the colors I would look at doing it in maybe like 3 colors.....

I am new to Vinyl cutting, We do mostly Textile Silk screening

We need more info on your setup . Operating system, software, connection type (USB or Serial) There are a few variables that could cause this. Most commonly is a faulty USB driver. But could be something as simple as a setting in your cutting software.

    printed decals

What printer do you have? If you have something you can use solvent ink with you do not need to laminate. There are a lot of variables to our question so we need more info....
  5. There is a very good post on the forum somewhere on building a home made tape holder looks like it would work really slick... The video from UScutter with the guy using the other tape roll as the applicator is the one I was talking about and it is a great method for large pieces... This just isn't something that is easy it takes time and practice. When I was first learning I always had 2 guys applying tape on large runs....

Illustrator CS6 and Cutting Master 2

I would email Adobe I think they would have better answers for a work around... I don't know what would cause that.... The overall framework of CS6 is the same as CS5 so the driver compatibility should all be the same.
  7. Start app tape at one end keep pressure on it and work your way across... Don't let the app tape touch the vinyl until you are applying pressure..... Squegie from the center out.... there are a million different ways to apply tape you just have to try different ways and see what works best for you.... Some people lay the app tape down sticky side up and apply the vinyl to the tape that way..... search youtube and try different ways.... my favorite way for doing large runs is the way it was demonstrated in one of the UScutter videos on how to cut a decal start to finish.... (It may have be SW now that I think but its one of the 2.)
  8. JAY sometimes I am amazed at how dumb I can feel!!! I have a small project I have been working on for a nursing home that wanted something done with cling decals and I have had them printed and they turn out horrible!! I NEVER even considered this... I am leaving for my cabin today, Monday when I get back the home will be very very happy I have come up with something for them..... How well does that stuff cut?? They want individual letters so in theory I could cut them in regular vinyl do an outline, separate the outline, then cut the outline into to he cling??? This way it would have the same shape as the letter instead of being just a box cut around the letter.. (Of course it would all be mirrored.)

    Welcome from Michigan!!

Looking for some vinyl ideas, ghost lettering or...

Even the creative films carbon fiber that UScutter offers would be subtle on it... I have put it on a few darker colors and its hard to see really doesn't show up on photos but looks sweet when the sun catches it just right.

liyu running flexi 8.6 not cutting to contour line

From what I have read you are better off lining up with the knife point.... Skeeter just posted a good link about how all that works... They even have a name for it and I forgot already....

    GOOD STUFF!!

    Roofing Art

I would definitely make the shadow lines solid.... Unless you are going to cut them in a large decent size then it wouldn't be to bad.

    Confusion on Flexi Starter 10

Looks like you are cutting an oval around the panda..... I was under the impression he wanted to actually print the panda then cut the panda shape out........ As far as I know the only way to do that was to vectorize it.... I know with any version you can contour cut a shape around it but not "contour" the actual shape of the image..... Maybe I am confused as well LOL..... Either way it seems as though Mark knows what he is doing now and the people helping him have managed to confuse themselves..(ourselves) LMAO

    finding this font

Someone posted that same image here wanting the font it is in the font section somewhere.. I know I spent a while looking for it on Dafont. Try these http://www.fontspace.com/category/paintbrush

    Confusion on Flexi Starter 10

Sounds like you have figured out a way that works for you. The more you do it I am sure you will find easier ways of doing it. There are a million ways to eliminate the background on the bitmaps you just have to find one that works with your software and skill level... Congrats on getting it going!
  17. In the Device manager see what port your cutter is labeled as.... That has to match the port you set up in Flexi's Production Manager.... Check the Baud Rate they have to match..... Did you load the drivers for the keypsan adapter you are using or just plug it in? Sounds to me like you will need to download the Keyspan drivers and then set the port properly in Flexi.
  18. Dr12volt1338

    what font?

If it just has to be close go to Dafont.com and look through the Stencil fonts and see which looks best to you... I didn't see anything I would consider close enough without manipulation... Let me know what you find...

    Confusion on Flexi Starter 10

I know they both have it but from what I understood he was trying to do was contour cut a bitmap... When I do it in my Apprentice it wants to contour cut around the "box" around the bitmap or the background... In my flexi pro I can eliminate the "box" and have it contour cut to the actual bitmap. I was under the impression this is where is issue was.......

    Looking for Digital Camo

It's not custom there are places you can order it from but most of the guys here who print will give other members good deals so it's usually cheaper to have them print it for you and send it to you...
  21. Check all the connections on the board make sure they are tight... Did you make sure you were grounded when replacing it? Any kind of static while working with electronics pieces like that can cause issues..... Compare the part number on the board to the part number on the old board and verify it is the correct board.
  22. Check your cutting strip to make sure it isn't sticking up along where it cut deeper.... This happened to mine I had to pull the strip out and re-seat it.

    Confusion on Flexi Starter 10

I don't think that FlexiStarter is going to do what you are looking for..... If you are trying to print a bitmap and contour cut around that there are going to be extra steps involved.... I will mess with my version in the morning and see what it would take... I have Flexi Pro and LXi apprentice I will put together a video and try and get it posted sometime tomorrow since I can hardly stay awake now....
  24. How is the machine hooked up? USB or Serial? Windows Version? Mainly you need to make sure that the port listed in the Device Manager on your computer matches the port you set up in Flexi...... Is it a legal copy of Flexi? I have read that many people have issues with downloaded pirated versions...... Does it say Can not find port? Usually the error is Can Not open Port........
