Ive been using a SC for quite a few years now. Took some tuning to get what I wanted out of it but it has paid for itself over and over. Im working on getting a graphtec now that I have all my screen printing equipment. But the sc has done everything Ive asked of it. I do many 2.5" wide us flags with perfect stars so cutting small is not a problem. Just have to fine tune the settings to what you need. Im sure the graphtec will be much better but the SC has served me well especially for what it cost

Where are you guys getting your tumblers or just paying retail for them? I used the black diamond dust on one today and did fine till vinyl lifted and i didnt notice it in time. Ok is anyone else having problems with their keyspan and windows 8.1? I bought a new computer which has 8.1. Everything worked fine until I installed my keyspan and cutter, the bsod for driver power state failure. Sent minidmp file to Microsoft and came back it 2 as in direct relation to the 2 keyspan driver files. I called tripplite and they had me go download and install their new "8.1" driver and install. I had already done a system refresh and made sure the old driver gone. Few hours later, same bsod. I'm out of solutions. I can't be the only one with this problem. Uscutter said they couldn't help, tripplite said that's the right driver....Asus solution is a complete system restore but no assurance that fixes it.

Yeah I may go that route. I contacted ASUS and they said it would void my warranty if I open the case. Right now Im back to USB cable, since Tripplite cant come up with a solution either. So far its working. Just have to remember to shut it down in between large cuts again.

Yeah I thought about that, but being this computer is barely a month old. I really dont want to open it up and risk warranty issues.

Well trip-lite cant figure out why it isnt working. Its definitely their driver doing it. "was sent higher up and will get call when they figure it out". So in other words "We have no idea". Only option right now is to try to work off USB cable. I dont like that idea because of the memory rate problems in the SC. Hence why I had a keyspan in the first place. So put together a fairly large project and sent it to cutter without a blade in it to see if it will run it all without freezing cutter. Other then that I dont know what to do other then run my cutter off old computer and design on new.....but thats just a PITA.

Older driver is what I used first. Then when issue happened I contacted them, they got me using newest driver for 8.1 and same thing

What is the secret? I attempted Siser glitter today. Didnt go well at all. First attempt I thought blade was set right but barely scored it....trash can. 2nd attempt after setting blade right, it cut it what seemed nice and through, but when peeling it pulled up in some spots and seemed to tear like wet paper. Luckily it was for a hoodie my wife wanted me to make her, and not a real customer. Which is why it was something for her, hoping to figure it out. I only bought 2' of it to play around with and well....its basically all in the circular file. Was a bit upset I ordered Black Silver and got regular Silver instead but seems to be the norm lately with orders.

Can someone name this font? Back especially, but front also if possible, although Im guessing the front is just custom lettering. What the font was 0 help

Probably dumb trick but it has helped my hair loss. 1 thing I hate about weeding HTV is how it sticks to the tweezers and can be a PITA to drop off. I take my scrap vinyl and cut a square. I lay it sticky side up and as Im weeding I just touch it to the vinyl and it stays there....makes for really easy clean up....no small pieces all over the place stuck with static. BTW....those letters are just under 1/4" and I do smaller with my SC.

I see a lot of people talking about the value cutters not being able to cut small successfully. With a little tuning, I think my SC does a pretty good job. DOing a order of shirts with HTV and 3 of the shirts are XS child. So of course had to resize design for them. You cant read the ruler well but the design is 8" wide. The font in the corner is for the front pocket area so not included on design size. Those "e"s in the center measure just barely over 1/8" tall. I shake like a dog crapping a peach seed also due to nerve damage, so weeding can be a chore normally. So this is just to show you cant count the value cutters out. At least the SC. No its not a Graphtec and yes Im saving for one, but it does the job in the meantime.

Its hit and miss on what files SCALP will open. I have a ton of EPS files it wont open and a ton it will. Now I just do all my work in CorelDraw and use the plug in to send directly to scalp, then just cut.

Yeah I used to only run at 100 being overly anal about things. But bumped it up to 200 and thats where it stays unless super thin detail then drop back down. Usually fine scroll work.

Yeah I read on here back when I first started about weeding out the small spots first so you dont stick to the sheet all the time...cant imagine doing it the other way around lol.

I just saw that video through my email before signing on here. Ive been tossing around the idea of a 3d printer.....but cant figure out what I would really use it for.

Seems like a waste of federal dollars that could be used on our boarders as well as against terrorism.....not a panty raid. Like said, a C&D with local law enforcement at most would have sufficed. Gross misuse of federal resources.
