pcut help
MZ SKEETER replied to signsbynorm's topic in Creation PCUT Cutting Plotter Support Requests
maybe you can see from all the pictures in the Newbie Manual. http://www.customracingdecal.com/manuals/Noob-V4_9.pdf -
I just purchase used Xp Toshiba laptops on EBAY. You can get very good deals. You can get a Keyspan adapter that works great, I know it is too late,, it has been said over and over on this forum to have a backup of your files,, and for all of the people reading this post, get an external hard drive. Get a flash drive. put them off site of your computer, Isn't this your business.? then insure those files by putting them else where ALSO...... then you can just keep on working and put them on another computer if the present computer crashes. I have my files 3 other places. This is how I make my living!!!....

New Car Side Graphic and first Successful Sandblast. lol
MZ SKEETER replied to bbreault's topic in Show your work
car decals are very unique. I like it,, Most customers like unique and different. -
I guess it all depends, on what you are needing them for. and the prices between them, Flexistarter and inkscape FREE will do most anything you need as far as cutting and designing. I know nothing about Signgo. regular Flexistarter 8.6 is $99 and contour cutting is $130. I have used Flexistarter starting with version 7.6 and have up to 8.6 with contour cutting for over 4 years with my Graphtec 30" cutter, I have never needed any other cutting software. and I run a fulltime Ebay store selling full side vehicle graphics,

where did you get your original download of Signblazer? this guy takes donations http://forum.uscutter.com/index.php/topic,18816.0.html I downloaded free from here and it has more functions than the cd http://forum.uscutter.com/index.php/topic,21665.0.html

have you read the Newbie Manual yet? If not, maybe start there, Your blade holder should not be coming out of the arm as you state, if it is locked down with the thumb screw on the arm. and there should be a locking ring on the blade holder it'self once you get the blade at the depth you are wanting. The tip of the blade should barely be seen sticking out of the holder. http://www.customracingdecal.com/manuals/Noob-V4_9.pdf http://www.customracingdecal.com/manuals/Noob-V4_9.doc

old post, Pcut and laser pointer are the same machine, just that laser pointer has a laser. http://forum.uscutter.com/index.php/topic,21298.msg184678.html#msg184678

well you can't go wrong with a Graphtec. that would be my choice,(I have a 30" Graphtec , and love it). and it comes with it's own version of cutting software made by the makers of Flexi software. I believe it has a plugin for Adobe... Us Cutter 12" can be used with other cutting software, but of course you would have to purchase, that other software. Signblazer is free software, that is why it is offered with the US Cutter vinyl cutters. yes, work can be done and saved as an older version such as version 8 .eps and imported into Signblazer. you can go to the top of the Signblazer thread right now and download it and use it. because it is free software

blade offset is set different per machine... and per blade. example I have a Graphtec and mine is set at zero 0 and Flexi offset is inches, as most others are in mm offset explanation in link below http://forum.uscutter.com/index.php/topic,16152.0.html

I am also a single mother who raised 3 kids by myself. !!! And I have a sucessful business on EBAY because I taught myself everything......and still do. here is my assist. If your going to be in this business, you really need to learn and vectorize your own work. it takes less than a minute to vectorize an image, the instructions below are right in support here on the forum.. plus there are many, many videos and tutorials to help you. Vectorising in Inkscape SolutionThis walk through explains the basics of vectorising in Inkscape. Step 1) Import your image. Click File>Import, find your file and click OK. Step 2) Select the image, go to the top of the screen, click Path>Trace Bitmap. Step 3) The Trace Bitmap menu will then open. Here you can select how you want your image vectorised and adjust the settings. You can also generate a preview. Once you are happy with the preview click OK and close the Trace Bitmap screen. Step 4) Now you will have your new vector image and the old raster (bitmap, jpeg, gif etc) image stacked on top of each other. Seperate the two and delete the raster. Step 5) Play around with your new vector image!

No,, it was like you or me just quiting decals and selling all our products on EBAY. Seller was selling out. Wasn't from same seller either. The rolls were not open or damaged in any way. I just went to weed the design and noticed a bad place. THen went to cut the design again, and on prefeed saw another place. I still have 80% of both rolls I have to work thru. They are not large areas , and not close to each other, like 10 ft apart, just enough to screw up your order. where vinyl should be. Not a circle, just a very small area that didn't get covered with vinyl. about a 1/4 the size of a pencil eraser. just small area, blue lining. I haven't unrolled to see if there is more, I just look when I do an order.
