Hi, I was wondering this, too.
Some experience grounding problems, but the cutter is grounded through the plug connection with wall socket. I assume inside the machines the "ground" cable is connected to machine's frame? That would make that the machine is grounded.
But as I understand correctly, the static issues is that the stand is not grounded? So a small piece of wire from stand's frame (aluminum) to machine's frame (steel bottom plate) would get rit of any static charge built up?
Does it matter that the rolls that the vinyl roll is placed onto are made of plastic?

personally have never tried plastic holder - thinking plastic and vinyl would hold a charge - maybe use a static tinsel to discharge.  reviews on this product are not great but wonder what machines they used them on and what the problems actually were.   https://uscutter.com/Anit-Static-Kit-for-Vinyl-Cutters/

  2. Tip for others on the forum working with large format tile - covering the tile with your application tape allows you to draw on the gloss surface and precisely cut those lines - used it for outlets and the first shower tiles and worked great.  you could draw on the back of the tile but when making the cuts I prefer to slowly cut from the good side to minimize any chipping.  the tile by the shower valves is just temporarily setting there until I mix more mortar - just checking fit

your vinyl supplies work great for so much more than decals. a while back I needed to cut a specific size hole in some aluminum and cut a circle in 651, applied it and then just followed the vinyl as a guide

Do what you got to do! Kudos to doing the reno on your own ... there is no way that I would trust Ken to do anything the demo phase. You know, 'cause I'd want the how water to come out of the fixture, when I set it hot, etc. Hahaha. Great job!!

Nothing to do but dig in and get it done.  We are not as fast as 25 years ago and this time all plumbing is moving 11”.   Demo was a bit slower as we filled 3 residential dumpsters a week instead of paying $1000 for an extra big dumpster.  That and everything seems heavier than last time. Oh and the 4 days of clean up after the storms, we got hit hard.  My daughter and sil have removed 14 loads of brush and only scratched the surface.

Purchased a ce7000. deeply regret it. Issues with bunching from the start. Tech told us to adjust tension on pinch rollers. Had to send pics to prove it doesn't have adjustment. Returned it to graphtec. They adjusted the loose carrier and sent it back. Still having issues. They seem to blame everything but the machine.  For the record i have a sign warehouse q60 next to it that runs circles around it.

read the thread - you are not alone - I returned mine and bought a fc9000 because I was used to having all my other graphtecs feed with absolutely no problem - the ce7000 has issues since moving productions to another country IMHO.  I also believe that is why the older ce5000 and ce6000 prices have been at an all time high for used plotters -

  6. I have had 3 roland eco solvents in my home - OEM inks not bad at all, aftermarket stink terribly and cause more problems.  as to if it is safe I have no idea but had them for 7 years in our house running.  Just keep it printing every couple of days - biggest issue is people buying them because printing is sexy and easy and not enough use they are replacing very expensive heads - and the reason we sold out last one as we started going on 3 week vacations and hope to snowbird someday - I could count on at least 1 new head after 3 weeks away, even with the printer doing it's own self cleanings 3 times a day.  they don't like to sit unused and will let you know about it

  7. with your work you show on your web site maybe think of moving up to a graphtec and get graphtec pro studio free - or use the plug in for AI with a graphtec -
With that said if you did all the work shown on your web site and on here with a SC I am impressed.   read thru the scalp part of the forum - many people have had issues with it over the years -

  8. Learned something new tonight - last week I upgraded the processor in my design computer and found out tonight that the VE_LXI-Master Plus and Graphtec Pro studio wouldn't launch due to license issue.  A call to SAI Support sorted it out and found out the flexi software's take note of certain hardware configurations to make sure it isn't used on another computer.   in about 15 minutes both programs are back to normal.   Never even considered the processor upgrade with no other changes would have put my flexi versions out of service . . . . just for reference if someone else runs into this

Heres what i got from future corp

    1. uninstall vinyl  master

    2. dowload this exact version https://fcws6.com/downloads/vm_usc/Install_VinylMaster_USC_MVS_2021_07_07.exe

    3. run through the easy setup and connect your cutter

    4. calibration should run just fine. It fixed it for me

thanks for posting the fix for others to look up in the future.  if you sign up on the forum you don't have to wait for a mod to approve the post - it is free, no spam involved and become part of the community here supporting each other.  glad you got it worked out!

  10. Sounds a lot like you are still thinking in terms of raster graphics and not in the terms of vector graphics the plotter uses.   Conversion programs don’t work well with vector graphics that require tracing to make them readable with arcs and nodes instead of pixels.  Vinyl master is a solid choice, I had several ce5000’s and they work with many softwares made for plotters

  11. no idea here but I would be skeptical that gel ink would work in an hp - heck not sure the epson ink would work because I think hp uses heat to burst the ink out of the head I read a long time ago and the reason that hp's aren't used for for sublimation.

I know nothing for certain and didn't stay at a holiday inn express last night :/

Would the fact that I'm using GS cause issues with print quality perchance?

I've got a Windows laptop which is spare, however, I like to make projects on my Macbook/iMac

Not sure but gs is not the same as the gps as the gps is actually rebranded as flexi pro without the rip function and I know from experience the gsp prints great .  Not sure who make the cheaper gs version
