    Hi Everyone

Hiya, good to see ya. Tip? Build a media catch-basket. (Longer cuts tend to reach the floor, unless you have the basket) Trick? 'Arch' your text for a very cool effect. Have fun.

How come your quote-post function is all screwy, Dan? It looks like this ----- <blockquote class='ipsBlockquote'data-author="rdusigns" data-cid="307910" data-time="1366416947"><p> i dont understand the title of this thread<br /> <br /> ===================================== I wonder if white-baseball-cap guy will plead "not Guilty" when he's brought in front of a Judge? His father (in Russia) was interviewed and kept denying that his 'good boys' could have done such a thing, and that they were framed for this.

"This is what we expect from war." -- BOSTON

"I don't understand the title of this thread" --- The statement from Dr.Conn, chief of emergency services at Massachusetts General Hospital, was quoted as follows: "This is something I've never seen in my 25 years here ... this amount of carnage in the civilian population. This is what we expect from a war battlefield." He was referring to the injuries that resulted from the explosions. It reminded him of the bloody mess of a war zone. And those individuals who suffered amputations and other massive injuries, and in fact, all of the people of Boston, can rest a bit easier tonight knowing that the manhunt for the perpetrator(s) is over tonight.

    A "how to" question

Minor nitpick ----- The demonstration on mb20music's Jing video (SB Arch tool) actually made the outermost letters smaller, not taller. Instead of dragging the Arch midpoint down, it can be pushed up, and the result will be what xpaperman is seeking. I've never used that tool before, and now it's going into my Bag of Tricks.

Linky no worky. In any case, the net is closing around the perpetrators, and people will expect some answers regarding "why"
  10. Apparently, he's pissed-off about his LPII and is SCREAMING (with those annoying all caps) how the laser function is not easily understandable and the instructions are in English, etc etc. This part is pretty easily translated, even if you don't speak Spanish -- "UN COMPLETO DESASTRE ESTE PLOTTER"

I'm guilty of it myself sometimes, what is called the "eye-roll" reaction. A few times I've jumped in with a snarky reply, or tried to let the person know -- "Hey, this is beyond simple...are you kidding?" (or words to that effect) One thread recently, I even caused the original poster to abandon their entire train of thought, she deleted the whole thing, and left. It's not something I'm proud of, really, but just thought I would mention that it happens, and when it does, it's worth taking a step back and reflecting on the main focus of these Forums. I believe that in the overall scheme of my participation here (over 1200 postings) I've provided legitimate assistance, clear directions, proper advice, and avoided being too judgemental. And when an eye-roll is truly warranted, sometimes it's better just to keep silent.

An interesting article in The Jerusalem POST today, by Yaakov Katz. He sums up things in a single word -- "Resilience" http://www.jpost.com/Features/In-Thespotlight/Boston-Israel-and-resilience-309980 Dan, you're right about needing to learn to be a kinder, gentler world.

    Ever wondered...

It just seems easy as pie. Push a button, and there ya go. Use your credit card and pay four hundred bucks for the cutter & vinyl, set up a work table and chair and a computer, load SignBlazerElements, and you can be a sign maker, too. I have to admit, I've been doing this for over 18 months, and from day one, I have been satisifying clients who like my sign designs. Everything I learned about this work I got from a tutorial DVD and YouTube. Graphics? I don't do graphics. I make signs with words on them that say something. If I need some sort of visual accent, I look into the SignBlazer Library or grab an item from my MegaVault ClipArt (like today, I needed a car for an automotive dealership sign, and he loved the Lamborghini silhouette from my "Rides" CD). This ain't rocket science.
  15. Guide rails won't help to keep it straight. If it starts to wander, vinyl will just bunch up against the rail and cause even more problems. Place some tape along the edge of the feed area (front and back) and use that to line it up, using the "Offline" button and running the vinyl out and back.
  16. Incredible that there's no Index function with SCALPRO. Anyway, maybe someone who uses that program can chime in here? I only know that's a really easy and basic thing to accomplish with SignBlazer, it's right there in the Manipulate menu: Expand Outline.
  17. OK, and what does SCALPRO Help index say about Outlines?

    4 x 24 Sign

Funny thing, I did a 'Tobacco House' acrylic signface lettering a few months ago! I popped in a little house (from the Library of SignBlazer) and added some smoke coming from the chimney. Where did you get their house logo? Did they provide it or did you create it?
  19. Use the Help funtion in whatever program you're using and search for Outline.

Cutters have limits on how small you can go. Apparently, you've exceeded that limit and are trying to get into too fine details.

Where is the original artwork file that the card-maker utilized? Cards have to be printed from a digital file. In your example, I am not going to scan the card. Recreate.
