How do you store supplies...

It wasn't just ANY garage, it was Steve Job's parent's garage (when he and Wozniak outgrew Job's bedroom) -
Thinking about relocating, who loves where they live?

Suburban Baltimore. Best decision I've made in my life was moving here. And I've lived all over, from Boston to Gainesville, from Hollywood to New Haven, from Philadelphia to Miami. Check out UMBC. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/University_of_Maryland,_Baltimore_County- 99 replies

Many people operate from their homes with their vinyl cutters. It is a very good way to earn money to pay bills. Your parents are probably glad to see you doing it. To store things out of the way in a small space, try to utilize the UNDER and OVER areas. In other words, shelving up high and plastic storage boxes below a table, below the bed. I use risers to provide room under my work table for coroplast blanks & stakes (I buy them in cases of 100) and I like the table at a more comfortable height so I am not required to bend down when weeding or applying to substrates. -
The carriage transport belt merely hooks onto small pins behind the carriage (left and right sides). If you need to release the tension on the belt, just remove the left-hand side cover (where the power plug is) by taking out two screws that hold it in place, and there's a belt roller with an adjusting screw which you can turn to loosen the tension. (Keep track of where it was originally, so you can replace the tensioner to the same point after attaching the unhooked belt to the carriage)

"I definitely don't want people to assume that it was my planning or skills that creating a bad looking sign." Exactly the point. The MOORE'S TREE SERVICE sign in the opening post of this thread makes it appear like the sign person is incompetent. Simple as that.

I notice things like this -- it's a sickness: The numerals 272 on the bike are clearly done with a stylized font that's in the family of Handel Gothic Bold or Microgramma. However, the numerals on the stand are completely different. Is this a crucial point for some random dirt bike racing guy? Nope. Would this be a problem for a corporate sponsored team that wants their number to appear in a consistent way in all their graphics? Yep.

Bueller, Bueller, Bueller....?

I simply don't put up with customers who are WRONG. If they're obviously not right, then they're not right, and I have no inclination to deal with them any further. By the way, here is an infamous example of a business that feels many of their customers are wrong --- Amy's Baking Company, Scottsdale, AZ. http://www.nydailynews.com/entertainment/tv-movies/gordon-ramsay-quits-filming-kitchen-nightmares-episode-article-1.1344121

I think you need to make a few rear-window decals

He wants about 20 a week, I can handle it with my SC cutter. I have the time. This is what I do, turning vinyl into cash. I feel a bit like Rumplestiltskin.

^^^^^^ And this is exactly why the USA has have been already going to hell in a handbasket ^^^^^^^^

Not sure I understand what you're saying ---- by leaving them unconnected, then I can pop the entire thing apart in one swoop around. In fact, I was actually going to leave more room between the scallops and the circle, for that very reason. If I connect them, I'll have to go into each spoke and pick out the segments, and pick out the scallops too. What am I missing here? BTW, the .eps provided by mx377 was interesting, but not eye-catching enough for this guy. Currently, he's PRINTING his notice signs, and I offered to do them with a vinyl cutter, so I cannot give him something too dull. This ferris I have made seems kinda cool, and says "FUN" (thanks for the encouragement, jaybird, that was the feel I was shooting for)

Or maybe increase the offset more noticeably, with the gold over one way, the silver the other.

your asked to do lettering ... never a font

"I use an app called Printer's Assistant that allows me to quickly catalog my fonts and print sample font catalogs." Got a download link? I am sure many of us would appreciate it. -
Whatever...

Well, that says a lot about these Tree Cutters.

Just a heads-up, you should really eliminate all that excess negative space on the coroplast signs, and certainly the decals on the vehicle look bizarre with too much negative space as well. (Also, the text MOORE'S is absolutely not following the arc properly)

I'll go one step further with this --- Let's suppose that Leon wants to put a decal onto an RC car for his son. Is the Roush Fenway Racing team even OFFERING such a thing in the marketplace? In other words, just because someone has a copyrighted image, that doesn't mean they are actually providing the public with an opportunity to obtain the image in any retail outlet.

Here is my suggestion for solving the mouse jumping issue --- Change your screen resolution.

My darn cars engine went on vacation!! and the kicker is....

Hmmmmmm, and to think that I'm upset at my wiper washer suddenly failing to spray. It's all a matter of proportion, I guess. -

There are two basic font types: serif and sans-serif At the very least, get the client to narrow their choice between those. Just remember that the object of lettering is readability. -
T-Y. I am wondering now what other features of the program are missing within my UK version? There's several grayed-out menu items, such as CHOP, REVERSE MASK, SMOOTH CORNERS, DRAW POLYGONS/STARS,

I know you weren't, Rodger. I am basically bust-proof!!! As for the entire subject of racing car numbers in general, it seems to be a genre that's taken on a life of its own.

For the record, the .eps file I offered here is just a regular font, and NOT the specialized Roush Fenway Racing car number design. BTW, I took a look at the Roush Fenway Racing 16 and it didn't appear especially difficult to vectorize anyway.
