  1. I had that same problem with VM, I now use scalps4 and never have that issue. about the only time I use it now is for something I cut in it b4 I got the other program
  2. wow! now that some blade. did you just buy this cutter? I purchased a sc model cutter last yr. not only was the carriage off track when it arrived , but it was also stuck. wouldn't move up or dn. post a pic of the carriage without your finger so I can see how you have the tool holder set in the carriage. plus look for the 3 white wheels the carriage runs on the track with. 2 at the bottom rail 1 in the center of the top

Looking for a laser cutter option

I will ask a guy I meet dn here. but I think his may have been a lot more than that. he just uses it for wood . he does all types of boxes and signs. told me it burned so clean. when he went to maintenance the filter, it was still clean. looked like hadn't used the machine. you wouldn't believe his wood working shop. I couldn't find saw dust in it anywhere

    excited with new toy/heat press

well this wasn't what I was looking to do right now. but it was def something in my head when I purchased my cutter . was just waiting until I upgraded cutters and computer 1st. then a friend hit me up fri afternoon wanting shirts printed for his new business for a meeting 7/25. I started looking who could get me a press here in time. that def made a challenge. while I was shopping for my cutter and every time U S has a sale . Ive looked at about every brand . and had somewhat decided to order 1 of the 15x15 swing arm models from here. I did get to talk with a couple sales reps. from a couple companies, it was too late to get something from any of them. so I got on the only web site I knew I might be able to get something before mon. even on there options were slim to get it here. finally found something. not at all what I wanted, but I figured it would get the job done and I was out very lil $. so I ended up with a 9x12 swing arm del sun. I already had some siser htv . so today I got it set up and started. I believe I like this better than any of the other stuff ive done with my cutter in the past yr .so I guess its time to really get busy in my vinyl biz so I can afford about 5k in upgrades. pics of my 1st project

    excited with new toy/heat press

well it looks like the 9x12 maybe upgraded faster than expected. The friend I did the rush order for was asked who did his shirt. so he sent the guy to the shop. he just placed an order for 30 shirts, lettering both sides and rear door of enclosed trailer, and replace some lettering on the side of his truck. wow! I knew I shoulve started this a long time ago. lol

    Pinch Roller Setup

roller marks like that haven't came out for me. the only way I get them that bad is leaving the rollers dn a long time, or cycling the vinyl thru the cutter several times
  8. @Primal Decals we was just talking about this the other week. would it be worse or better for the static issue. anyone tried it have any input on the static issue? I definitely like the vinyl rack built in. I have been planning on adding a catch basket and maybe a rack like whats on a graphtec

    excited with new toy/heat press

thanx for the tip. I have been trying to get different local shops here to print me some shirts for months now. still waiting, so I have started looking at equipment. I found a 4 color 1 station on cl cheap, if they had called me back it would already b at the shop. but that's the story dn here, my neighbor calls it "Beach Time" . 1 of the reasons I have a cutter. 2 different sign guys told me they would be here tomorrow, over a yr later and I'm still waiting for that tomorrow. Hell the big sign guy across the street from me had 2 phone #s for me @ for my wife and emails for both. still haven't heard from him. I talked with them the day I rented the building. but its in everything here.no wants to work

    Titan 28 tracking issue

@Primal Decals he has a titan 2 . I'm sure he can help. I have a U S cutter SC the marking strip is off on mine, the ft isn't the same as the rear. so I run the vinyl thru and measure on both sides so I have it straight to start with

    excited with new toy/heat press

yep, Hooked is the correct word! o yea, I see a fusion in my not so far away future .I talked with a rep fri. just no way could I get 1 here. really been talking about this since I bought my cutter. so much so , I bought a sample pack of siser htv with or maybe with my 1st vinyl order. T shirt shops are up and dn the strip here. I kept telling the wife if we were doing custom to order shirts it would set us apart from the other stores. all the stores Ive seen are doing transfers that all of them carry. I hate to say it, I want to upgrade cutters really bad. But I see the heat press bringing in more biz. and yep, I can tell a bigger press would make alignment a lot easier. and that's exactly what I thought. after upgrading can always use it for some small stuff. or put it on CL and turn it. I'm only out a lil over 100. so no big deal either way. just hate I waited so long. but I didn't want to do as my cutter, but 100 isn't a huge deal to put on a shelf. but the way it looks it will pay for its self this week last edit.. lol I did the back of my hat to just see if I could

all words and images cut mirrored

that's why I wondered if he was designing in a different program them importing to scalps 4 to cut. or some how something with cutter setup?? didn't know about the last, but figured it wouldn't hurt to ask

what cutter ? how are you designing ?

    First trailer

that's pretty much the way I look at it. what good is it if you cant read it? I'm a unexperienced/ no graphic, computer education newbie. everything self taught, learned from post on here, or by @Primal Decals. I just finished lettering my 3rd commercial vehicle a few weeks ago. and that's how I explained it to him. I feel like if it isn't big and bold enough no 1 will know what it says passing it on the road at 45mph. colors and fonts customers pick out can make that hard. that's when I tell them to start paying attention to other vehicles with graphics/lettering, do they just look pretty sitting still, or can it be read moving? I have 2 more commercial vehicles to quote this week, so maybe I'm doing something close to right.lol

New to the forum and vinyl

welcome aboard, I'm a yr old newbie from myrtle beach, since we started our biz I have met several peeps from your area. you joined a great forum, this is a board full of knowledge and helpful people. I wished I had found this place b4 I ordered my cutter. would've prob done a few things different

    USB Issues - SC Series

my sc was doing something similar. I think mine a was a bug on my comp. cleaned and restarted and all was good.

    Used Mimaki cutter/ new titan

and I checked my blade depth on a piece of scrap vinyl when I got to the shop today. only scratch on the backing paper is where I started and ended my cut where there wasn't vinyl. so my issue with lifting gotta be the model cutter
  19. I asked awhile back about a few different used cutters. I'm hoping to upgrade from my sc cutter soon. looking at a titan 2 or maybe a used brand name servo cutter. Have a guy in our business association that has a mimaki cutter. states very little use. and it looks it. I can tell he takes very good care of his stuff. so..... go used or new titan2 with warranty. just looking for some opinions . I may have even posted about his cutter awhile back, thought he sold it since his ad was gone. but at the meeting tonight he let me know its still available

    Used Mimaki cutter/ new titan

I watched a stahls video the other night. cant rem if he just talked about it or if it showed the cutter doing the cut

    Used Mimaki cutter/ new titan

I guess I should've explained that, I think he paid $1600 -$1800 , I'm just wanting to look at the receipt for the date it was ordered. MZ SKEETER mentioned earlier how old the model she found was. seemed this 1 wasn't that old, but of course I have the memory of a 100 yr old. lol. and I cant rem the price he ended up listing it for. but with this guy I do believe the usage story. now when this 1 came up last yr I also found a used summa and seems like a roland on cl both seemed priced reasonable. $500-$600 but was a older sign shop equipment and even in the pics could tell were well used. and that's about where I would have to be to buy a nice used machine. yep, ive noticed after researching. most have a machine that does tangential emulation or true cut have never used it. so with that coming from well experienced sign peeps, when would I ? if I wouldn't have been treated as always and hung up the phone pissed off like every time I call n that place. I would've order the titan 2 weeks ago. that opened the door to looking for different suppliers again. seems every time I get over it, reeled back in with sale prices its the same thing. not saying their a bad co. just saying for some reason I keep having a bad experience. all different issues. the last was over waiting on them to call me back as I was told.

if not mistaken I also checked my blade depth on a piece of vinyl. been awhile now so I don't rem. but more than likely if the methods were posted on here , I tried it. lol. I get most my info from the help of everyone on here and my go to guy, @Primal Decals. he fills in the blanks or just whatever I don't understand. this is def not something a non computer guy should get into. lol.. from just being able to surf the net, and send emails to this is a huge learning curve. I couldn't have done it without the help from all on this forum. But I still have so much to learn on just using a computer, then add graphics and the cutter. I enjoy learning, I feel if you don't learn something daily , your backing up. I'm going to check his receipt again from when he ordered it , and see what his bottom $ is for the mimaki , but after this post I think I better off waiting and getting a new machine with whatever the new options are at this time

went back to that us cutter link and it showed the fc was unavailable on there. yep u could be right on the plus. that is possible, but it doesn't happen unless its a small or very detail cut. and I set up my blade using the cutting thru sticky note pad method. and I barely have an imprint on backing paper I just watched a video on the 6000 Graphtec and of course you mentioned the new 1s had tangential cut. but I don't see that in us cutters ad. also doing google search on tangential cutting lead to several post on here. most were older, I guess when it first came out.

    Used Mimaki cutter/ new titan

looking up the Graphtec FC7000-Mk2 google pulled a us cutter ad $2484 I guess isn't bad if they used to add 3k. and I'm sure part of the issue I was thinking this would cure, prob. isn't an issue with a higher end cutter. with the sc on some designs ive had lifted corners and issues similar. just weighing it all out. so it looks like if I spend $800 I can have a servo titan here, double it and its a Graphtec ce6000 , triple it and its a FC7000. I also noticed US cutter now offer Graphtec CE6000-60 and a CE6000-60 plus whats the difference
