    651 works well as sandmask

I've used 631, and it works just fine on flat surfaces. For mugs and glasses though the curves of the item cause issues and the 631 doesn't conform easily.

New to vinyl , looking for a starter Machine

I bought the starting pack you are looking at. And while it has served me well, it wasn't as good of a deal as it seems. The MH is an ok machine but for letters any smaller than about half an inch tall it really is a pain. As for the green star vinyl that comes with the kit, it's good for practice, but the better Oracal 651 is much easier to work with and lasts longer.

Dyepress Poly subjects take a look

I would think the other keys on the key chain banging against it would scratch it up and make it look pretty bad pretty quickly. But...I have no doubt people would buy them anyway.

    SVG to EPS

The original has a masked fill pattern. I changed it to a solid color and removed a gradient fill. 298th_Support_Bn_DUI.eps

Need a hand on this one

I basically redrew it from scratch. I drew a single vertical line to match what was already there the duplicated and rotated it 30 degrees, and repeated till I had all the lines. Then I drew the circles at the necessary sizes. Then I copied one line of the circle/numbers and placed them on the lines lined up with the circle cross points. Then I groups the circle/numbers and set their rotation point to the center of the large circle, then duplicated and rotated it by 30 degrees and repeated. The rest is just fine tuning.

Also noticed the circles were not circles. Here's a cleaned up symmetrical version. joesorig.svg

Need a hand on this one

Are all the lines suppose to come to a single point in the center? Cause they don't. Also the circles are not centered on the line crosses. I think easiest thing to do would be to redraw it from scratch

Anyone want to make these for me

Just an observation, the curve of text doesn't quite match the oval. Personally it'd bug the crap out of me every time I saw it.

    Anyone sell 12" x 50yd oracle 651 vinyl?

I had to do that with a 48" role that was given to me. Just cut it to size with a miter saw, worked great.

Who can open DXF or DWG fils?

Inkscape should be able to open them. If the file truly blank or is everything white and blends in with the background. I've had that happen on files from time to time.

    Wrap for a motorcycle

Buddy of mine wants to wrap his bike. Any suggestions on where to find the best price on vinyl wrap and about how much he'd need for a sport bike? I've already told him about fellers, any place else he should check out?

    Laserpoint II - Grounding?

Technically, you don't need to ground the cutter, it is already grounded, but you do need to ground the vinyl. Typically that's accomplished by grounding the stand the cutter and vinyl sit on.

Need a cutter for custom painting/masks

One of the biggest things new people seem to have a hard time understanding is Vector images vs raster images. Do a little reading up on vectors and it will help greatly when you dive in. I'd also suggest downloading Inkscape and play around with it a little. Inkscape is a free vector program. It takes some getting use to, and some things are little cumbersome to do, but for the most part it can do all that the big name vector programs can do, and best of all, it's free. As for the numbers relating to the Oracal vinyl, that is simply model numbers. 631 is Oracals indoor wall vinyl, designed to be removable. 651 is calendared outdoor vinyl designed to last 3 to 5 years, there is also 751, 951, and several other models with various properties.

Getting sick of people under pricing and more.

But where do you draw the line though, if you see someone rob someone, do you let it slide or call the cops? Just stirring the pot.
